Arts & Crafts Corral / A few cards by H.o.M
« on: March 26, 2024, 07:21:54 PM »
At the beginning of this year I have made a few cards. Sorry for the very poor quality pictures!
I drew the cards with colored pencils. These would have turned out better with water colors.

Easter cards for friends:
(In the first two, it says Happy Easter in Finnish.)

This card went to mom and it features our cats Ozzy (bunny costume) and Hector (chick costume)

Birthday card for dad:
The yellow-necked mouse (Apodemus flavicollis).

Personally, I liked this better when there was no background. It's a shame when I went to ruin it with spruce trees.  >_<

(I made this for a friend of mine as a birthday card. I added that text to it later on the computer.
Does this picture look familiar? This drawing of mine has different ponies than the original.)

Here are the birthday cards that I already mentioned in another thread.  :)

Both are made mainly with watercolors. (The eyes are made with a black marker.)

For mother:

Arts & Crafts Corral / Two drawings/cards
« on: April 09, 2023, 04:28:53 PM »
(My thread from last year was already locked, so I made a new one.)

Here are two "spring" drawings/cards.  :)

I made the first one for my father's birthday. A blue tit on a willow branch (watercolors/colored pencils).

And the other one I made for my mom for Easter. A cat and a chick are resting among Easter eggs (watercolors). It says Peaceful Easter Time in Finnish. The cat really looks exhausted! It was supposed to look happier.  :lmao:

Pony Corral / Unknown pony in old Mlp comic.
« on: January 16, 2023, 02:57:15 PM »
(I couldn't find a suitable thread for this, so I made a new one.)

Teacher pony. Who is she? Does she only appear in comics? Completely new and unknown to me. I don't have that comic, I found this cover on the internet.

Pony Brag Arena / This year's first ponies...
« on: January 09, 2023, 02:02:53 PM »
..and the owl!

:frolic: My mother was lucky when she went to the flea market this Monday. The yellow pony cost 5 euros and the pink pony 4 euros.
These are new to me, I'll have to go find out what the names of these are.  :)

Sparkly owl cost only 1 euro! :wow: It's battery-powered, so it has a light! And the best thing is, it works!  :yippee: I got a new night lamp for the bedroom!

:newpony: Did you get ponies as a Christmas present? Send pictures and let's admire!

 I wrote in another thread that I will definitely not get ponies...but surprise!  :frolic: Santa had brought me three small packages from which these beauties came out!  :lovey:

I already have Wondermint, but this might be in much better condition! I haven't checked it yet. This version of Scootaloo I don't have. The one with the gift package as a symbol is a completely new acquaintance for me! :wow: What is its name?
(Their hair is messy, I haven't had time to brush them. My mother found these at a flea market, so they are not new.)  :)

Pony Brag Arena / Pony find at the flea market after a long time...
« on: October 04, 2022, 04:37:59 PM »
I found a plastic bag containing ponies and other toys. It cost 5 euros. She was the only Hasbro G1, the rest are fakes.

May I introduce the lovely Sugarberry!

I cleaned the larger dirt from it and treated its hair with shampoo and conditioner.
Just when I was about to put it up for sale, I looked at the markings on its hoof soles. It says Hong Kong, so is this a US version? I have the same pony on my shelf, but it says China. So I can't sell this because I got a new pony in my collection!  :newpony:

Sigs & Site Support / Is this a permanent error?
« on: May 23, 2022, 05:12:58 PM »
This has been the case for a few days now when I log in to the Arena.

After logging in, the following texts will appear on the screen:

The requested document was not found on this server.
Web Server at mlparena.com

Going backwards, I still got inside the forum and everything works fine. Refreshing that error message page won't get me anywhere.
There is no harm in that because I get on the forum, but it is annoying.  :pout:

Off Topic / Wonderful Nature - Thread

Welcome to write about nature and its wonders.  :hope:

There was also a pony forum here in Finland (which has already been closed  :( ) and there I also wrote this kind of nature thread. I miss those moments and I want to continue writing about nature here as well.

Nature is very important to me and I love to explore it. Spring and summer are the best times to make great observations and discoveries. But autumn and winter are also very nice seasons. Then you can make completely different observations.

(The picture of the hedgehog above is from 2016.)

Here's my earlier story from What made you smile today? - thread.  :)

May 07, 2022.

I almost came under attack from the hedgehogs!  :lmao:
At 10 o'clock in the evening I took food to the hedgehog. At first it was nowhere to be seen, but then I heard a puffing (is the word correct?) under the bush. I said, "Oh, there you are." I lowered the dish to the ground and turned toward my door until suddenly another hedgehog ran towards me!  Luckily, it just went past me right next to my foot and ran to another hedgehog. So they started pushing each other hard and their "hiss" continued louder. As the two hedgehogs fought, a rustle began to sound right next to me in the bush!  A third hedgehog emerged. It, in turn, ran to my feet to sniff me until it spotted the fighters and fled back into the bush in fright.
I finally got to sneak back inside for my own chores and left the hedgehogs to spend the spring.

These are certainly the same hedgehogs I met last summer. The fighters are males and what is hidden is a female.  :)

Arts & Crafts Corral / H.O.M's Easter Drawings
« on: April 16, 2022, 04:35:46 PM »
Happy Easter to all! :art:

I got excited this Easter to draw Easter cards.  :) I wanted to show them to you too.

This first card went to a friend of mine who is also a pony collector. It has a pony G2 SkySkimmer. She admires a bird’s spring song with her friend’s chick. Her bunny friend also wakes up from her nap to listen to the song.

I made this card for my dad with a blackbird in the picture. (I don't like the outline of that bird. They are too thick. I had a bad pen.)

This last one is something I'm not sure if it's even worth showing ... It's so silly.
It’s for Mom and it has her two cats dressed as Easter witches. The boy cats are named Hector (gray) and Ozzy (black).
It reads Happy Easter in Finnish (Hauskaa Pääsiäistä).  :)

Thanks for watching!  :good:

Pony Brag Arena / Carry Case
« on: September 09, 2021, 04:28:17 PM »
This is my very first pony carrying case!  :frolic: I bought it for 10 euros. I had always wanted this in my collections and now I have it!  :) ( Two G1 hats, a Barbie brush and four Remco ponies were included. )

This is apparently the UK version? How common is it? I also have no information whether these were sold in Finland in the 80s?

(Sorry for the bad pictures and their backgrounds. I covered the scrap from view.  )

Introductions / Greetings from Finland!
« on: January 04, 2021, 01:28:05 PM »
(My English is very poor so I use a translator to help. Hopefully it will all be spelled correctly.)

Finally I dared to join this forum!  :shy:

So I am Finnish pony collector and born in 1985.
As a child, I had about 50 ponies and best of all, they are all still in my possession and nicely displayed on the shelf!
In 2006, I was looking for ponies in the attic of my childhood home and fell in love with them again. That’s where my adult pony gathering started and now those delights have certainly accumulated for me over 200. I haven’t counted it for a long time as much as I already have them. When wiping the dust, I could do the calculation at the same time.

What more could I say about myself ... I really like nature, cats, owls and metal music.

I know at least one pony collector from this Arena. Hello Griffin! :hearts:
