Are there any G1 unicorns that don't have glittery symbols? Not counting nirvana ponies :)
-
Sure, tons ... Magic Message ponies, Secret Pocket ponies, the So-Softs (Buttons, etc), TEs (Galaxy, Mimic) ... UK unicorns aren't too glittery either ... German baby ponies (baby buttons, baby moondancer, baby gusty), BBE babies (baby frosting, baby gusty, baby ribbons) first tooth babies (Baby Fifi) ... only the first couple waves were glittery (Majesty, Windy, Moondancer etc), twisty tails ... not a comprehensive list

TaF Milky Way can have white stars? That's the only contribution I have.

UK unicorns can be glittery and not. Gypsy is. Gusty and Buttons not. Milky Way both is and isn't as we had both. But the glitter rules kind of stop counting by 1987. So really it's Gypsy and she is glittery; )
But Gusty and Buttons in the movie release have the stripe in the hair but no glitter.

My very first G1 unicorn, Beachball, didn't have any glitter. She's one of those UV color changing hair ponies. (Well, she was before I rescued her from a daycare.)

The earliest unicorns had glitter, but in the 4th year of MLP (the year of the first So-Softs and Twinkle Eyes) they quietly did away with the concept. Which on the one hand makes me a little sad, but on the other hand they probably had more diverse options with 'printed' symbols.
TAF Milky Way had glittery symbols in Year 5, but the other unicorns from that year had printed symbols. As far as I know Milky Way was the last unicorn to have a glitter symbols. (But there is also a Euro version of her with printed symbols . . . I forget where she's from, possibly Germany?)

White star Milky Way was sold in a few European countries. Including Germany, France and the UK. But as i mentioned we also had the silver star glittery one in the UK. In a way, given that the style had moved on from glitter, Milky Way is a bit of an anomaly...
