Title: Who was in your childhood herd?

I was browsing through kimsites for funsies this morning and started thinking about my childhood herd of ponies and trying to remember who all I had.  I'm ashamed to admit that my memory was QUITE foggy on this matter.  However I do recall having these ladies and gentleman:

From what I remember my childhood collection consisted of:

There was also a Baby North Star I kept at my Grandmother's house.

I have a memory of a Minty that I thought was a fake My Little Pony because it was a different shape than the other ponies and said Mexico on the hoof whilst all the others said China or Hong Kong or whatever. I'm not actually sure if that one belonged to me or one of my friends or cousins though.

Wow, I only had 15 ponies. 13 if you subtract the two ponies who were thrown out the same year I got them.   But I remember ALL the ponies released so I thought I had more.  It is no wonder as an adult I went nuts trying to buy all the ponies I wasn't able to have as a kid.

As a teen I bought myself the mail order baby Stockings with babysitting money.

My first ponies were Firefly and Sand Dollar. Later I got Moondancer, Moonstone, and Squeezer. Lastly was Halfnote.

Somewhere along the years I also got petite pony (alt) Flurry and her house, and mummy charm Tell-A-Tale.

I know the ones I had as a kid were baby frosting, best wishes (in need of repair hair and fuzz wise), buzzer, yum yum (flutter one), dibbles and nibbles ( all the stuff that came with them are gone, party time, the purple princess pony, mint dreams, and I have to think about the rest.

My childhood ponies were plush Bow Tie, Glory, Powder, Whizzer, Wind Whistler, Baby Fifi and Princess Tiffany. I can't remember if the plush Bow Tie or Glory were my first ponies. I do remember the agonizing decision of picking Powder over Sparkler in the store :)

Sadly I don't have any of them anymore, but my best friend gave me her childhood ponies and since I remember playing with them, it's almost as good :) She had Moondancer, Tootsie, 4-Speed, BBE Ribbon, Tiddlywinks and Dangles.

I most DEFINITELY belong to the class of "HUGE HERD". I still have the backcards to the ponies that were bought/recieved NEW and that number is 63. We had way too many too list mainly G1, some G2 (Since they were in stores around that time) be had ponies easily over 100, still have some of them, but many were sold in garage sales, or given to my cousins. I can post some pictures if you guys want.

Our cousins gave some back, but of course she kept my Mimic, baby Sweetcakes, and Tux and I never knew they were rare until after she had them lol

Having had one pony or many doesn't matter so long as they were well loved. :)  I only have Tootie Tails left and I recollected 6 of the original amount, but I tend to keep my collection sparse these days. <3

For those of us unlucky enough to part with our childhood ponies, after you got into collecting how many of you managed to recollect?

For those that still have their childhood ponies, I know my own ponies had some very serious playwear to them with all the "desert" and "swamp" adventures we had, that and their frequent trips to the dishwasher courtesy of mom.  Do you ever consider sprucing them up with touchups and rehair?

I actually bought hair to re-hair my childhood surfrider that my mom gave a hair trim. But when I got it I couldn't bring myself to rip her head off and pull it out. So I just  c oditioned it, styled it.
My childhood blossom has the worst smooze. I've scrubed it with toothpaste/toothbrush, soap/scrub brush, bathroom cleaner, majic eraser, acetone and I can't get it off. I'll try my steam cleaner when I find it, if that doesn't work then I'll try a peroxide bath

I don't really know how to answer this question. I was a collector from the start, plus I was 11 years old when I got into MLP, so there wasn't really a point I stopped to be able to say this were the ponies in my childhood collection.I was always buying ponies and asking for ponies.

She has really big pores in the plastic that the smooze is in. Ive tried scraping with my fingernails and soap, but not under hot water. I will try it .

I remember my cousins having Sugarberry and Dancing Butterflies and I have always admired them and want them in my current herd. I still have my original ponies:

To answer a question from above, I'd really like to have my Parasol and Twilight restored - Parasol has no tail and glitter loss on her symbols. Twilight's hair is faded and her flocking is kind of ratty. Salty is also discolored.

Fluttershy, Toola-Roola #1, and Pink Sunsparkle were my very first MLPs :) they came in a 3 pack and was my christmas gift :P
Sparkleberry Swirl was given to me by my friend, Rachel in 6th/7th grade (?)
My mom's friend let me have Starcatcher :P
And Tulip Twinkle was my last MLP before I went on hiatus.


I still have these ponies...and they ain't going no where  :cool:

Only Wind Drifter! And I think I know why.

The episode I remember best from when I was a kid was "The Fugitive Flowers" which, among others, featured Masquerade. Given her role I probably would have been most drawn to her, but at the time that I saw the episode Masquerade was probably not being sold in stores anymore, so I probably would have been looking for "the yellow pony with green hair and wings." That's just a guess though. :)
