Post by: Mintymints on June 21, 2012, 02:17:53 PM: G1:SS Buttons, I was at a garage sale and picked her out of the box (With the dream Castle :cry:)I threw a fit for her when my mom said that she would get me any G3, but not that dirty old thing, I spent so much time afterwords begging, but my mom said no, finally when she caved in, we went to the ladies house, and she GAVE me Buttons and, in addition Raincurl, she said they were the only ones that she forgot to give to the last person. Buttons was meant for ME :sheepish:
G2: Copper Glow (My mommy ordered her online, because I wanted her so badly <3) She was expensive :O
G3:Minty (: Always will be my favorite pony :heart: Here's her story~
When I was 5 or 6 I used to be into Barbies, specifically the fairies, When I got them all, I went to a friend's house, she had My Little Ponies AND Barbies. I was under the impression you could only love one toy... When I asked her a million questions about where she got them, where they were etc. She asked her mom. Her mom said that she loved my enthusiasm and asked the kid if I could have one ( :lol: ) She agreed, and gave me Minty. She told me that this was her favorite, and she wanted to start my 'ponyworld' with that pony :heart:
I miss her, she moved to Norway when I was in 5th grade, and Minty is my all time favorite pony because of her ^.^
G4: I was in Florida, on the beach with my cousins and I saw a girl with My Little Ponies, which I presumed to be Fakies, but then went to Target and found them. They got me into G4.. Not much of a story, I bought Rarity :P

Usually refers to a leeching of colour from the pony plastic - so Bluebelle may have been a nice purple blue colour, but over the years the red pigment has dissipated and left white or light blue purple patches or overall colour.

Up until then, the only ponies I knew of were the G3 ponies. My mom never got into the G1s, but she knew what they looked like and knew that there were many different types.

Well, we went to a market and I saw a white pony. My mom bought me a lot of stuff back then, so she bought it for me. I was happy with her, but then Mom says that she's a MLP.

"No," I said, thinking of the G3s,"she's not a My Little Pony. MLPs look a lot different."

Mom said that there were many different types of ponies and even showed me a website with pictures of lots of ponies on it. I still wasn't convinced, but it wasn't until some years later when I realized she was a MLP and even later when I found out what her name was. LOL.

Oh, and my sister got a fakie the same day.

Post by: Shukie on June 21, 2012, 05:29:17 PM: i was given a SHS Sundazzle sunbeam by a family friend. played with it all the time at our familys summer home on a river. left her out there one year, to come back the next year and find her leg having cracked off from being frozen in the snow.

Bought a new one off ebay earlier this year :P she lives on my desk here at home next to a figure of Yotsuba and Chi from Chi's Sweet home. :P

There is a picture of my mom holding onto her for me while I pulled on wrapping paper. So like I said not the first one I got, but the first recorded one.

Yep what she said. My Bluebelle has a very pretty blueish head but her body has faded to a creamy white with the exception of the tips of her hooves and around her stars.

I don't have either one of them any more. I lost Windwhistler and am kicking my 11 year old self for letting my sister donate Glory (I kept the sticker though.). My second pony was Raincurl, though, and I do still have her. :)

I got her as a birthday gift from my grandparents when I turned three.
I hated her.
But we were visiting them 400 miles from home and she was my only toy and well...the hate didn't last long. My childhood collection grew to almost 100 ponies by the time I got too cool for ponies in 7th grade.

Meanwhile I do remember how I got my childhood Tutti Frutti. When I was a kid I used to have my thumb in my mouth when I went to sleep. My mum wanted me to stop that so she hung a Tutti Frutti from the lamp in the ceiling so I could see it from the bed and said that I would get it if I stopped :P Of course I did it anyway as soon as she left the room and I did get my Tutti Frutti but I also had to wear braces when I grew older XD

Mom was not very happy when she got home from work and I couldn't understand why. XD

Otherwise if I did have some ponies from Hasbro as a kid I don't remember. My mom claims I did, but I don't know how many or who it was.

Post by: WinterBlossom on June 22, 2012, 07:32:37 PM: My first pony was Blossom, I played with her all summer in 1983, then lost her in the garage for a couple of years, I felt such guilt about losing her that my parents were quite worried about me (I was about 5 by this time)...after I found her I treated her like royalty, and got Cotton Candy and Bubbles as 2 and 3 respectively for my 5th or 6th birthday.

Up until my 17th birthday (I went to uni by my 18th) I celebrated their birthdays as well as mine every year.

Moonstone, Sunlight and Skydancer joined me that Xmas, then AJ and Bow Tie sometime that year.

Starshine was so hard to get - I loved the colours and wanted Skydancer's sister so badly but she was virtually impossible to find in the UK at that time (I seem to recall pony fever had finally hit our shores) - some friends of my mother's eventually got her for me while on holiday in America.

I still remember opening each of these early girls, where I put them and in some cases what I was watching. It is amazing how some things stick, isn't it?

Didn't manage to find Seashell until the mid 1990s though.

Blossom is still my babe, I love all of the (UK) first set and Rainbow girls, they always bring a smile to my face no matter the situation! Mexico Blossom and Moonstone are my current grails, as it German Starshine.

Wow, getting all sentimental now...

She's the only non sea pony in my collection, but I am thinking of getting first tooth baby north star to stand with her, as she was my second pony :)

Mine was a G2 Light Heart too - the Canopy Bed one. She's very loved and much played with, and is in a horrible condition, poor girl :P
