Meh. She's a solid variant, but is too "vanilla" to warrant her price tag, which is unfortunately true of most French ponies. She'd be nice in a Firefly army or a collection of French ponies, but she's not for me at the moment. Firefly, of course, is very nice design-wise, and plays a huge part in the 1984 special, which I love!

The most interesting French ponies to me are the "non-Rainbow" variants of the Rainbow Ponies, who had uniquely colored hair with one main color and a stripe, like early unicorns. As far as I know, these are incredibly rare, with "Seadancer" (so nicknamed because her main color is Seashell's green) being OOAK and Moonstone only being heard of, not seen (at least I assume the reported pink-haired variant belongs with these guys). There are two variants of Windy; I think the darker haired one may be an error, but I'm not sure how they compare as far as how many exist. Starshine has interesting contrast, but it's just "pretty neat" while her original design stands as an all-time favorite of mine. I've never seen nor heard of "non-Rainbow" earthlings, but with the scarcity of their potential setmates, that doesn't mean they aren't out there. A bizarre set, but a cool one nonetheless! They need a better name than "non-Rainbow," though!

Also, why do French ponies seem to be in consistently good condition? Almost every one I see seems to be near-mint. I know that, for example, Argentinian ponies were made more cheaply, but were French ponies really that far above the others in quality? You see baity Italian ponies, for example, here and there, just like common ponies, who are better quality than most Nirvanas. Is it some other reason why the nice ones are more often seen? I mean, you've got a lack of glitter symbols, but that doesn't explain their immaculate... everything else!

I also see them with their accessories a lot... Did they not sell well, leading to them being common MIP at some stage? I guess it could be the result of collectors seeing better-condition ponies as better examples (as they should!) and many sites using nicer photos, but... I don't know what my point is here. I just think of French ponies as always being so perfect when, surely, there are some sorry-looking ones out there somewhere, right?

Firefly is one of my favourite childhood ponies, but I have the Italian version and I love her lighter colour. I only have French Bubbles and I'm looking for French Bow Tie, otherwise I'm not really into French ponies.
