Help! How to smooth out mod podge?

I've been working on this custom for about 2 months, the details are not my artistic forte so much sketching has been done, and I decided to seal the base coat color so it wouldn't be as hard to wipe off any mistakes I made with the design color. I know, I still need to be careful about it. After putting on the last layer of mod podge I left her out to dry. Silly forgot to make sure she was up high out of reach of my 3 yr old when nap time was done and my daughter decided to "help" me. Now there are lumpy streaks where she "painted" on the semi-dry mod podge and created lumpy, uneven streaks all up and down the foreleg. Any advice on how to fix this?

You're probably going to have to wipe the leg off completely and start again. I suppose it is possible to gently sand over the lumps or use a little water but you're going to have to touch it up anyway. Honestly it would probably be easier to just re-do it, sorry

I agree with DancingPhoenix. If there's only base paint and Mod Podge it'll probably be easier and less time-consuming to just wipe it and start over.
