G3 Cheerilee is an earth pony. G3 Fashion Style Cheerilee is a unicorn. :blink:
My theory: she is wearing a unicorn costume.
DD's answer: "she has the same eyes as the Unicornia unicorns", so I guess that means she is a Unicornia resident.
Anyone else have a fun/wacky/reasonable theory? :lol:
Also, curious about a PC on these girls. DD seems to be starting an army of them.

I figured she must have some unicorn blood in there somewhere and she willed herself into becoming a unicorn. *g*
As for the TAF Babies - I know there's unicorn TAF daddy out there somewhere!

Cherry Blossom got renamed to Cheerilee , stealing the name of a unicorn, because Hasbro thought it was cuter or something. Seriously though, Cherry Blossom is the better name.
My theory: Hasbro *shakes fist*

My guess is two ponies with the same name in one generation. Same thing happened with unicorn Twilight and Pegasus Twilight in G1.

I think Cherry Blossom got herself in trouble with her bookie and had to go into "hiding". Hence she came up with the tacky name of "Cheerilee" and later assumed the identity of a unicorn to confuse the bookie's henchmen. The unicorn costume was just a bit too hot and heavy to wear on a daily basis. So as time went by and the bookie's thugs were off giving other ponies concrete horseshoes, Cheerilee (aka Cherry Blossom) decided to take off the unicorn costume and live as normal earth pony. One day she would like to return to her old home of Ponyville and use her real name but unless she can stay away from the track I just don't see that happening. :huh:

I seem to recall it was because Cherry Blossom didn't translate into French well so they changed it to Cheerilee.

I agree with Firehooves, there were a few reused names in the G1 line.
I have a MIB Cheerilee army, but I don't class Unicorn Cheerilee as the same Cheerilee (partly because she is out of my price range, lol! :P)

Maybe it's one of those genetic things that shows up after X number of years? But lots of those affect only one gender, and there are male unis. Now I'm mixing humans and ponies, or is it apples and kumquats?
