the green twinkler is a variant = there was a MOC on ebay not too long ago = so that's not a plastic issue.  I think an arena member won, not sure if it was a delaney pony but I'm thinking it might have been

yep I agree to the cola coloring  and I had a really faded to greyish twinkler as well so thinking that is a plastic/dye issue

Ok everyone. Background story. This was the sellers childhood pony. And she has always been that color.  Here is her response

"Yes this was one of my childhood ponies, along with all the others I have listed, and am listing. As long as I can remember she was always that color, and they were stored away in a huge duffle bag for the past 20 years out of sunlight. I have not been able to find any other ones like her with that dark of a color."

I don't think so .. She doesn't smell of smoke and the seller has verified that she has always been that color.
At this point I'm going to have to side with the fact that she is either a factory dye error or an actual variant..
I don't believe the color change occurred after production based on what the original owner said.

I recently got a Zelf that was supposed to be bubble gum pink but it was orangey pink instead. Sometimes plastic discoloration can happen while in package.
