I am SO STOKED for this. Maybe more stoked for this one than any other babw doll.
And I own like 20+ and used to go there biweekly...
I cant clearly see in the image, but I wonder if her eyes as a plush will be pink or green?

Woahh, what a cool and strange find! Curious how ya came across her!

I grew up in a mobile home park and never had any experience with horses. Horses are cool animals, and I think they're beautiful of course! BUT, I never had a "horse crazy" phase. I never read stories about stable clubs, or went to horse camp, or dreamed of owning my own horse while brushing a toy. I never really had a *personal* connection to them.

I got into G1/G3 MLP 10 years ago so -more so for the colorful fantasy aspect and the cute stylization than because of the species. Like, I don't know snap about cleaning hooves, the breeds, or their body language or any of that "horse person stuff". In fact, I'm a little intimidated by them!

...only uh, guess what. I have a horse now??
Well, technically my mom (who IS a horse person) does. We moved from a city trailer park onto my grandparent's old rural property - and we have a mini farm. She bought a real little pony a few months ago. She's super cute and friendly, but for all my pony collecting - I still don't know how to properly interact with a real pony. LOL (Kinda intimidated by her size, worried she'll nip or kick because I don't know her body language well)

Pony Corral / Re: Thrift shopped out and discouraged

I've had good luck at flea markets, but not so much thrift stores.

NOW.... There was one thrift store that was a pretty good resource for them near my old home. Usually beat up g1s, but I'd buy them none the less!  Later on I kind of connected the dots, and realized they were probably being stocked by a fellow that ran this awesome vintage toy trading store in the area. That is, that he would donate the baits he got in pony lots to savers in exchange for store credit.

SO that was sort of an unusual circumstance (I miss that store dearly!). Like others have said, we've kind of gone past the stage where kids from the 80's are unloading their old toys at the good will. Its still possible though! But you may have better luck at flea markets, because there are people that make their livelihood picking up old stuff from thrift stores and estate sales and reselling it.   That's going to vary a lot by location of course!

Not a MLP exactly. I only ever had one as a kid - I was more into Fantasy Filly (which was a short lived and obscure line)...

There was one I owned and loved named Prisma, who I bought myself  when I was like 7ish with a gift card prize for a halloween contest.

But I some how totally trashed her. I lost her horn, her back leg broke off, I put gunky gold paint in her hair, and on her body which made her paint peel off. she lost her jewels too. She was TRaaaasshed beyond recognition. I dunno exactly why or how, I guess I tried to decorate her and she was built kind of delicately.

Well, I still have her. I restored her to some degree a few years back to repaint her, restore her jewels and glitter. I even molded her a new foot. I have no way to replace her transparent horn, so she has a custom, pearlized swirling one
Here she is now:

Not nearly what she used to be. :(
But defiantly better than after I messed her up as a kid - I don't have any pics of that, but believe me, she looked nearly salvageable originally.

Anyway, I feel pretty bad about not taking better care of my favorite childhood pony.
She's like nearly impossible to find, and when I do see her for sale she's like 70 - 100+ dollars. Wahhh!

Wow those flutter wings look great! Are they the bottle plastic method or something else?
They look almost like they have real wing veins in them

Pony Corral / Re: MLP Kinder Eggs
« on: September 30, 2016, 11:26:50 AM »
This has been thoroughly answered, but yeah - sadly if you live in the US they cannot be purchased! US laws prevent the sale of any food item that entirely encapsulates a toy. (As if anyone is going to choke on a kinder egg capsule!) Similar American-sold products get around this by having a capsule that sticks partially out of the chocolate. (Like Yowees)
Its a dumb law, and I've heard rumors that it was lobbied for by American candy companies who were actually hoping to cut out competition....

You can buy kinder chocolate that is in non egg form however, and like others have said and you can buy opened toys online!

I did get very lucky once and I was able to buy pony kinder eggs from a booth at a flea market. The booth was  selling treat brands popular in Mexico, so presumably they were able to get it through the boarder while transporting Mexican coke and such. I'm not sure if that's a particularly common phenomenon however!
