Possible Sea Ponies in the Future?

I am not surprised or dismayed that there are people whining about the idea, when has there been ANY new MLP idea/story/product/artwork  that did not trigger a whine-fest?

And not just at EQD either...

I read the EQD post- there were a lot of negative comments but a lot of positive comments too- I just think that people like to be given a chance to complain- and not just the people at EQD.

I am just saying that based on how often and loudly people everywhere complain when there is a new idea/product/etc (ie the new episodes, the comic, the artwork on the comic, the funko ponies, the blind bags, the RD Welovefine bag...)  - it seems unlikely that Hasbro will listen or care this time.

Plus little girls love mermaid ponies and mermaid stuff in general-  Hasbro is definitely going to cash in on that at some point...

The cover is. . .interesting. The "sea pony" doesn't really fit G4 style at all, in my opinion, but its really interesting. I love the betta-like fins and colors, but I think the eye is too long.

Really guys? Because I see lots of complaints here every time something is released.

Edit: At first it used to bug me, and there were many times I thought about not coming here because some of the negativity was affecting me. But we are all entitled to our feelings, and we all are entitled to say those feelings. And no one will ever be satisfied with anything Habsro does or doesn't do. We all want something different.

For instance, anything G4, there are many people who still comment how they don't like G4, or are tired of G4 (although that is not as prevalent as before). Anything "Brony" there are people who complain how Hasbro is "catering to brony". Any blind bag, complaints that there are not enough brushables. Boys, "troll hair!" or don't like the mold, brushables... "pink!" "not enough releases" "meh!" "not a background character" "same pose" "it is a background character". Pony, I shouldn't have to explain what happened -- an extreme amount of happiness, and an extreme amount of unhappiness.

There is ALWAYS complaining either 1) not enough background characters or 2) that a background character was made.

Comics, well, complaining there are too many covers. There was complaining someone didn't like how it was digitally colored. etc etc.




 Should I continue? Because quite honestly, when new things are released, I see tons of negativity.

Um. It's full of horrific imagery, so no, it's not "low". It's appropriate.

Also, yeah, typical brony reaction to the art not being exactly like the show. Don't worry, they do this with fanart all the time, it's a thing they do. They'll still buy the stuff (and complain about it after the fact) but that's what Hasbro wants. Buying stuff.

Regardless, if I was a child, you know, what this entire line is catered to, I would adore that seapony. She is like a betta fish--beautiful fins, and very fantastical. I adore the style, and hope they actually show up in a line..that would be amazing.

I'm not a fan of seaponies (they just look really silly to me, and I don't like the lack of symbol), but I wouldn't mind if there were G4 toys of them just for some variety. As for this art, I don't really like it, Pinkie's hair looks really nice, but something just seems kind of off about Dash and Twilight.

I don't know if this will be wonderful until I see what they look like.  I would rather them just do an anniversary set of sea ponies from the G1 line rather than make a G4 sea pony with those awkward heads and mismatched bodies.  And if they are not brushables...they just won't appeal to me unless they are blind bag size.

As far as complaining goes that is just part of the collector world. I see it in contemporary doll forums too...we all have differing opinions.

Oh my gosh, thanks for posting that cover. It's gorgeous. The sea pony is obviously based on betta fish! And Spike looks so cute.

(Nature fact: Did you know that there is also a sea dragon? It is in the same family as the sea horse, but looks like a pile of weeds.)

I love seadragons!  I visit the leafy seadragon tank every time I go to the aquarium-  Australia is so lucky....

I think the pink one is kinda pretty, but I LOVE the Bratz seaponies. Sure wish I had the funds to by myself one.

But if they look like they do on the picture posted, they could still make them look very pretty. I'm open to them until I see what they actually look like.
