Butterick Pony Patterns- what do they make?
« on: July 30, 2013, 11:46:02 PM »
Hi,

I was looking patterns up out of curiosity and saw that Butterick released a handful of pony patterns, like Blossom and Starshine. The fronts just have pictures of the ponies. I'm curious what the results look like? Is it a big pony plush, or an ornament? I've just never seen these before.

If  I recall correctly, there were Butterick patterns for both big plushes and ornaments. Blossom and Starshine patterns are for big plushes, the finished plushies are 11.5" tall. The ornament ones are much smaller, but I don't remember what size they were.

Oooh, really? I think I've seen some of the ornament ones before, but never the big plushies. I want to make one... :P

I always refer people to Anitas Moms amazing plush when people ask - they are fantastic examples of the pattern. :)

They are decent size plush and the pattern is simple enough to follow and decently priced!

Aww... I clicked on the link in your sig and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere. But that could be a goof on Photobucket's part. I am interested though... I keep seeing the patterns pop up on eBay and I think they'd be fun to try to make one.

You could get the following Butterick MLP patterns:-

Firefly plush
Moondancer plush
Blossom plush
Starshine plush
Felt christmas ornaments
MLP clothing

Here is a picture of a Moondancer I made. I followed the pattern exactly accept for the lilac in her mane (the pattern called for all pink).
She is quite big (12" high, 16" long). (And yes, she does have false eyelashes!)

My G1's come from the Butterick pattern, but my G4's are from my own pattern as are my babies, and my medium ponies.

They also made a G1 knitting pattern for sweaters/jumpers, didn't they?

There a few different knitting patterns available for sweaters/jumpers, but they are not by Butterick. Butterick do sewing patterns only.
