Yay, I'll ask for the day off tomorrow at work!

if you are coming from the bay area, amtrak is pretty reasonable; I go to/from a few times a year, and it's usually around $30 round trip.

The closest stations would be either Merced, or Turlock-Denair, for anyone thinking about it, and I might be able to give rides from and back to the station in Turlock-Denair.
