Frozen Flame a Work in Progress~Painting :)

So I have never really done a WIP thread before, so thought what the heck might as well since this one is going to take a while to do. What I have in mind is where Ice and Fire meet. When I get done ( if I don;t scrap it first), this should be a full sculpture with the pony just being an frame underneath.
So onto the pictures.

Nothing like a little tinfoil, wire, cardbroad and pony parts to start a Frankinpony.

This is how much I have gotten done in two scuplting sessions while watching Conference.  One wing started, trying to make it look like feather flames. and the muscles defined as molten lava. Just the one side so far. Anyways I'm trying to be paitence with this one. I really hate waiting for clay to cure.

So got some more time to work on this bugger. After two sessions finished more of the wing, Mostly the top side not pictures. Added flames to the hooves and did a few spots of harding magma. You think it would be  easy to do a cooling lava look but boy i have had to try different techniques to get the look I was after.  Also had a little extra black in my airbrush so did a few passes to give me the feel of things. See if that was the way I wanted to go.

So Here are some shots of all sides, I have started on the other wing and side. Still trying to figure out how to do the flamin hair. Not liking what I have done so far and going to keep messin with it.

Update June 24
So I pretty much went MIA with this. Between family vacations, kids out of school, ect. Things have been crazy. So no future a due, sculpting as been finished 
I know your probably thinking what the Heck is up with the mane and tail. Just wait, the magic is about to start.

Looks great so far! The feather flame wings look like they should work out; shape is good for them, anyway. I looks forward to seeing the progress for this!

Thanks everypony, I hope it turns out "epic" as I have in visioned. Still have a long ways to go, Just working on the one side right now.
