Off Topic / Re: Watching old-school TV?
« on: August 29, 2017, 07:52:27 PM »
I don't watch TV, but I do have a hand-me-down CRT in my bedroom for playing Atari games on.

I've heard you can get an upconverter for not much money but I haven't looked into it too much.
I've heard that the Framemeister is quite good and versatile, but that one's pretty expensive.

Well, it would be showing off a program I'd written myself (not yet finished), so I guess it would be an addition to my collection in a sense, but I would also be sharing it with everyone. Probably the Corral.

Hi, I was wondering which forum would be best for showing off homemade pony-themed software, like a video game or similar. My first guess was the Brag Arena, but I'm not sure.

Very cute, was her hair already styled before you got her?

Oh, I'm jealous of those Sylveons!

Chocolate, cherry, and cookie dough for me! Though I wouldn't say no to coffee ice creams either, even though I normally hate coffee.

I can certainly whistle, not terribly loud, and almost always songs. Though I'm always annoyed when I find I don't have the range for some song. I'm not sure, but does a couple octaves sound like an average range?

OOOOH and so it begins!  I love doujinshi and it's going to be awesome to see how the Japanese artists have fun with MLP!

They've been at it since at least 2011.

Love the artwork! Is that Snowdrop I see?

Yeah, I think it is.

I don't know how many of you are aware of the Japanese G4 fanbase, but they make some pretty awesome stuff.

It took a few weeks to finally get them, but I now have FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC and PONY NEXT DOOR, a couple of collaborative pony fancomic anthologies that were originally sold at Comiket 84.
Actually, I know very, very little Japanese, so most of these comics are currently a mystery for me, but they sure are pretty; what initially drew me in was the fact that FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC featured several pictures that I already loved on goodly sized pages with proper color balance, so they look even better than on a computer screen.
Anyway, pictures!

The covers (the gold unicorn on FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC is actually shiny):

Color pages! FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC has twenty pages of these!
I apologize for the awkward camera angle and positioning; I didn't have a tripod handy.

From PONY NEXT DOOR:
(On the whole, PONY NEXT DOOR seems to have a lot more zany stories and situations than FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC.)

Now I have to (try to) read these properly!

Would you like me to pick one up from hot topic for you?
 Uh, heh, this is a bit embarrassing. In my desire for more pone I, for some fool reason, thought my (somewhat) local Hot Topic would have trouble keeping them in stock, even though they're popular. Completely slipped my mind to actually check with them.

I'm going to have this thread closed. Sorry for wasting anyone's time.

It's all in the title! If you have a Doctor to sell, please send me an offer and a photograph of the figure. Tie color does not matter. I would prefer the box be included.

Looks like a bunch of people got theirs from BerryMouse. Oh well, I did too.

I was surprised to find out these figures are actually hard and somewhat hollow, but that doesn't detract from the accurate designs and colors. I do like, though, that the tails are made of a slightly softer plastic.
