Evilbay Woes
« on: December 28, 2012, 09:28:05 PM »
I am posting this here in hopes that I might gain some insight from you guys...

I ordered three items from an ebay seller (who's record doesn't look bad to me) on November 30.
The items were marked as sent on Dec. 3rd. The estimated arrival time was Dec 12-19.
No tracking number was given.
I've tried contacting the seller twice, but to no avail.
I am in the U.S and the package is coming from Spain.
Am I just being overly anxious? I know Christmas might have gotten things jumbled....but good grief, lol!

Thanks for your time!
(I'll probably receive them tomorrow since I made this thread...)   :P

This might be better solved in the Trader Support forums...

I really don't know what advice to give you on that, I know international orders can be so fussy sometimes, but you also don't want to just sit back and let your package be out there for weeks overdue with no contact from the seller... Perhaps the seller is out of town until after the New Year, but that's really poor seller-behavior, I mean, knowing you had packages out there that could potentially still be in the mail through the Christmas holiday... I mean at least once check your eBay to see if anyone has an issue (I mean, mine's hooked up to my phone, if I get a message, it alerts me, I can answer it in a few seconds, even just to say - Sorry I'm out of town will respond ASAP - or /something/!)

I suppose you could open an Item Not Received case? (That's a thing, right?) I mean, if it's still in the post, I'm not sure what they can do but, without a response from the seller, it's very hard to know one way or another! Sorry for your frustration, I hope your package arrives soon!

Over the christmas period more stuff gets posted so lots of stuff gets delayed. I wouldn't panic yet.

I think ebay gives you about 60 days (could be 40, double check) to file an item not received case and for international purchases they prefer you wait until close to the end of that period. Just keep an eye on the date and make sure you file an item not received case before the time expires or you won't get your money back.

I hope you get your stuff safe and sound!

Celtic it could be delayed because of the holidays or the recent rash of bad weather the US has endured recently. But it never hurts to be concerned, especially when your seller will not communicate.

But you have 45 days to open a case, so be very mindful of that as you are going to be approaching it fast.  The case also can be opened now but considering it is coming from Spain, I would probably give it a bit more time. Just don't let that deadline pass. And do not feel bad about opening it. If you don't you will be out your items and money.  It also may get your seller to comminicate with you.

Good Luck *crosses fingers* in shows up!

It can definitely take a while to come from Spain - especially when its the holidays , and with all the bad weather - so like the others mentioned , I wouldnt be worried yet... but definitely keep your 45 day deadline in mind and if your items havent arrived a few days before it runs out (even if the seller has been in contact by then) open a case. You can always close the case or resend monies to the seller if the parcel shows up later :awake:

I've never successfully sent a package to Spain from the US. I have tried on 4 occasions and they have always gotten lost.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.
