I don't really collect any specific brands. I have some old, porcelain dolls from charity shops in my area. Other than that I don't have much. About 4 Equestria Girls dolls and one Winx Club doll that I got a few years ago.
I stopped buying any recent in-store dolls or toys as many of them dropped in quality.
If I'd add to my collection, which I probably will, I'd get some of my grandma's dolls and more porcelain ones. My mother usually buys them for me as gifts. They're pretty cheap and easy to find, since the charity shops around have a bunch of them.
I really like sinister looking ones, or If I find one that speaks to me I'll definitely buy it. All of the dolls have really unique dresses.

I'm not a specialist in pony hair, but I've looked on [ http://www.dollyhair.com/mlpnylonhair.htm ] and I think the color "butterscotch" is really similar, but not quite. Since from what I see in the pictures, Ribbon's hair color is more of a yellow-ish brown. I'll keep searching though.

I did too!  I loved them so much. Ponies were my biggest passion at that time, anything that had ponies or horses; it had to be mine. I'd watch different cartoons with horses and G3 My Little Pony. I had a collection that included 3 G3 ponies and 1 G3 McDonald's one; as for the rest, they were fakies or other brands. My favorite was G3 Daybreak. I miss her a lot. She's pretty pricey on ebay, but I'll save up hopefully. I gave them away years and years ago telling myself I was too old for them. I regret it but oh well. I'm sure I'll have them one day

Oh, I love Twinkle Twirl! Her cutie mark is one of my favorites. I didn't get my ponies back yet though. I just recently started collecting ponies again, and the only G3 pony I have so far is Cotton Candy - the one in my profile picture - but I will hopefully get them sooner or later. I did spot some of them on ebay, but they either ended, or I didn't have the money at that time. I have other priorities with my money for now, but I'm sure I'll get them one day

I remember having G3 Daybreak, which was my absolute favorite. I'd pretend she was a mermaid pony ( due to her color scheme probably ) .
I also had Lily Lightly, the one with the long dress and the horn that lights up, she was really cute.
And also, though I'm not sure, Daisy Paisley. I love her colorful pattern and something about her makes me feel nostalgic.

You could go to Spank! It's a used/non-used J-fashion, pastel and over all cute shop with fairy kei clothes, cute clothes, accesorries and toys, especially My Little Pony and other 80s and 90s toys. I think is somewhere in Nakano, near a Daiso shop. I haven't been there myself but I wish I could. I think It'd be worth checking it out. And I hope you'll have a fun trip. Edit: I'm gonna research more, since I'm not completely aware myself of where it's located yet. Hello! My name is Julia and I'm new to this forum. I loved ponies ever since I was little. I remember watching it with my cousin, we both share the love for My Little Pony.I had my own little collection when I was a kid, about 3 G3 ponies and 2 G3 McDonald's ponies, the others were mostly fake or any other pony toys there were at that time. I loved them, a lot. Sadly I gave them away about 5 years ago. I miss them so much and I wish I didn't give them away. I now started collecting G3 ponies again to kind of cope with it I guess? I don't know. I hope I'll make new friends here and I'm really happy I'm able to talk to people that share the same interests as me. Thanks for taking your time to read this
