Title: Basic Fun Tails
Post by: CameronFalany on December 22, 2021, 12:11:07 PM
Hey is anyone concerned or has it crossed any ponies mind about the basic fun tails staining the ponies body over a long period of time? I’ve had some vintage ponies that certain color hair bleed into the ponies neck, or around the tail hole, or leg! This happened when the hair was resting there for years and years lol
I suppose as long as you always keep them boxed it’s no problem, but I always purchase extra to customize at a later date! My MOCs don’t seem to have that problem, but I’ve definitely noticed it on opened ponies! I was even thinking of opening them and wrapping a Saran Wrap or barrier, but I guess in the next forty years I’ll be 80 lol and I might not care so much haha

OK so lemme get this straight... Basic Fun ponies are already getting marked by their hair colours? I should check mine but they are all packed away. Could you please tell us which colours are transferring or maybe a photo please? Thanks for the heads up! Also I would use acid free tissue paper as Saran wrap can react with other plastics and cause problems.

I read a review post on Amazon about Stranger Things Applejack saying the tail had stained the leg it's wrapped around. It is a very dark colour.

I opened up my Surprise a couple months ago and her yellow tail had stained her leg faintly. Now I'm wondering if I should do the others now, I was going to wait until I moved...

I have noticed that the bright chartruese colors on Surprise and the year 3 rainbows has stained. I bought a second Confetti to rehair, took her out of the box, and she has yellow marks on her leg. Hadn't heard about ST AJ but wouldn't be surprised. Mine has had her tail resting against her leg but has no staining.

I don't have any others deboxed aside from custom ones.

Going off vintage ponies, bright red and chartreuse are the colors most likely to stain.

Oh, yeah, they absolutely stain! Surprise is really bad about it. I figure if they're MIB, that's just a flaw of being MIB.
