PC on purple haired french starshine
« on: March 19, 2013, 05:40:02 AM »
I know she's rare and all, but...does anyone else think the reserve on this is somewhat excessive?!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mon-Petite-Poney-France-Purple-Starshine-Variant-My-little-Pony-Rare-/221200450968?nma=true&si=CY1hsDj5k10l8f7XSTyr2kBEfNg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

$1477 USD and reserve still not met...
I thought she was more in the ~$800ish range, not $1500. Wow.
Looking for: Alternate Birthflowers, Baity wingers, So softs - both minty and for deflocking - and DREAM BEAUTIES!

That's a huge amount of money for one pony, variant or not.

Sorry guys she's mine. I have been selling a lot lately. I have been a bit torn on selling this gal.

Apparently there are a lot of people on eBay paying good amounts for
French ponies at the moment so I wanted to see if
she was worth selling.

french ponies are VERY fickle and hard to price, on day a pony can sell for $50 and the next day the same pony will sell for $100!

IMVHO purple haired french starshine is valued at between $500-$800. the last one i personally remember seeing for sale on ebay was up for grabs at £700GBP, which is just over $1000. i cannot remember if she sold or whether a best offer was accepted.

I was watching that auction for funsies cuz I knew it'd go wayyyy above my small pony budget. I was so surprised that it jumped $1000 in the last few minutes!! Kinda fun to watch.

I think it is very hard to price rare ponies - if someone wants it and maybe is on a tight budget then you think it is a high price and can't bid that time as high as you would like to and when you just have some extra cash and want to buy sth special you just put an extra 100 in your bid and are happy in the end that you get the pony - how many times I have been second bidder and thought yeah for that price I would love to buy this pony or other thing... but the lucky trick is to be highest bidder for an acceptable price

I think it's a bit too much for her.
She's not one of a kind anymore, I think there are between 5 and 10 found at this rate.

I was watching that auction too! Like many others, without any intention to buy as I can't afford that kind of money, but I too was curious about the reserve hehe! That's an amazing price for any pony, and I have to say I would also sell any pony for that price! Could use the money lol!

I have a couple ponies that I wouldn't sell, even at that price, but for the most part, if you offer me a grand for a pony, it's yours :silly: white Lickety and Ladybird excluded :silly:

Truthfully ponies are worth what people will pay.
I have had a couple offers this high on her so right now
In this market I think that is what she is worth. French
Ponies on average right now are very popular :)

But truthfully that is nothing compared to what
That reverse bowtie was sold for. Apparently the winning offer off ebay
Was $11300
