Wow, I love her eyes!  And they are different from her toy fair pic.  She had the regular unicorn eyes then.  So pretty.

Her backcard explanation is pretty fun considering that she isn't going to be in the show- leaves more to the imagination I guess

Seems like no one else even notices! But I'm pretty disappointed too. I still want her like crazy but I was really looking forward to the red hair especially.

Oh my goodness! She's gorgeous!! And those eyes! They are so much better than the regular unicorn eyes. I can't wait to get my paws on her.

I do have to agree with those above me, she would have been even better if her orange details had been red instead. That would have been really striking.

It's possible that she is under a confidentially clause(? - or what it's called that people that are working on a secret project can't confirm and/or deny something is happening in a show due to legal reasons/contract). So she may not be able to "tell us" if Sunset will be in the show and is saying otherwise. 
I remember a while ago during Season 3 when Tara Strong (Twilight Sparkle's voice actress) said that she [Twilight] wasn't going to be an alicorn when fans asked her. And look what happened. xD

I do hope she appears in the show! Being a former student of Celestia is something that should be at least mentioned in the show and not just mentioned in a toy description.

Her bio is interesting , so she was a student of Celestia  ... hmmm this means that she must have failed and then Celestia looked for another pony that is Twilight 

Not really... it just means that studenthood doesn't last forever, which is perfectly reasonable; would you really want to be still counted as a student by the time you're 90 and in a retirement home or whatever?

Well the thing is that we don't know what being a student of Celestia really means, as for now in the show the only ones named is Twilight and Starswirl the bearded, and Celestia mentioned that Starswirl failed his trial by not making friends.

At this point of the series it does appears that only a few powerfull chosen get to be Celestia student (even the 5 of the main 6 aren't) and even fewer of them ones approve the test, and if they do they get a noble title it appears. 

Hence that's why I was wondering if Sunset Shimmer failed.
