Packaging plays a big part in attracting customers to a product so it's got to look eye catching and display the product well.

Gogobinsin--what kind of talk is that? Don't you know the best way to promote your product is to put a HUGE DVD in front of it?

OMG, Hasbro will have to put the DVD behind the pony with this kind of packaging!  I think I might cry tears of joy!

Love the packaging! I bet these are going to be a budget type for like maybe dollar general because they don't come with a friend or much accessories? But also on the other note if it just came with a comb and ribbon and a pamphlet
Then I'd be set (g1 style).  This package design is very g1 like, and I love it!

I like the new one, reminds me of G1s. The only thing I'm worried about is displaying them if they are kept MOC. Most of my G4s are MIB an the're easy to display, but my MOC G1s are much harder to deal with. Also the bubble is easily destroyed during shipping (well, those are 20 years old so no wonder). But I do prefer the MOC look.

There appears to be a plastic "block" shape at the bottom of the bubble that allows it to stand upright on its own, so displaying them should be easier than with MOC G1s.

I think it's actually freestanding in the picture, not leaning against anything.

YES! Thank you Hasbro for (possibly and hopefully) getting rid of all that excess useless plastic from the G4 boxes.

I really like this! I'm way too young for G1 memories, but I do like the packaging of G1s and it almost of reminds me of when I collected the G2 Littlest Pet Shop, though I see those look a bit different, so maybe it was some other toy? Anyway, can't wait to see this design on store shelves.

I'm disappointed this Fluttershy doesn't have the translucent body or glitter though.

Ooh, I love the new packaging! I can't wait for these to hit shelves! :frolic: There will be less damaged ponies this way. No tight plastic causing dents! :P

I, too, like the new packaging - less waste and more environmentally friendly.  :)

Now, here's hoping she's a translucent Fluttershy, too.  :)

 Yes exactly! They have no choice with this packaging ^.^ Unless...nah! They wouldn't create a dvd shaped bubble in front of the pony surely? :P Mind you, it is Hasbro...

Wait, where did Hasbro mention a packaging change? When did I miss this?

Man, that really sucks. :/

Hasbro released a press release about a year ago that they were aiming to reduce packaging across 90% of their lines by the the end of 2013 - so this must be how they are going to be doing it with MLP.

I totally love it! Reminds me of the G1s (I know that's been said already).

I wonder if this will be easier for kids to open. Or do parents usually open these things? I found the packages hard to open and I'm no kid. Plus sharp! Very sharp! Bad ponies, don't poke me.
