Title: Common/affordable blue G1s without pink
Post by: FlickaFriend on September 01, 2017, 01:21:31 PM
Ok so having just had my heart completely broken by alternate September Morning Glory I now have an itch for a blue or green pony that I can actually afford, preferably earth, preferably no pink embellishments and preferably an early pose (CP, shy, Posey, also like crumpet).

So yeah, basically a dupe for alternate SMG birthflower.

Already have Bow Tie CP, Bow Tie shy, Tootsie, Moonstone, Main Sail, Seaflower, Hopscotch and FiFi (i know FiFi is white but her blue hair makes her look to me like SMG colours in reverse). Hmm, that kind of looks like I've got enough but that's not possible surely.

Edit: actually a little bit of pink is ok. Depends on the shade.

It's hard when you can't afford your dream pony (looking at you, Brazilian Wind Whistler  :pout:)... I'd suggest Bluebelle who is blue with lavender hair, she is usually pretty reasonably priced. Or Night Glider or Blueberry Baskets if you have a bit more money to spare. :) Blue baby Ember is also a really cute monochrome pony.  ^.^

Oooh, lovely thank you.  Bluebelle and Minty are already on my list (Minty surprisingly hard to find in the UK at least).  I will look at the others. Oh goody, pony homework.

Not an earth pony, but Sunbeam is blue with white and yellow hair.  :)

Also Baby Stripes (blue with white hair.)

Baby Sunribbon, surprisingly, is a baby rainbow pony without pink hair, though she does have a coral streak.  But it is just as much orange-ish as pink-ish.

Rainbow pony Starflower similarly has a coral streak, but no pink.

And if you don't mind just one streak of pink, there's Sunbeam and Moonstone.

All the replies have been pretty comprehensive, but perhaps you might also want to check out Strawberry Reef as the ponies are sorted by colour?

Do boy ponies count? In that case Barnacle might be one  for you? :) Hopscotch has some pink in her symbol but the rest of her is blue/ddark purple. Medley, while a pegasus, has a blue-green ish body, and Tuneful - unicorn - is blue :)
Coco Beryr (uni) if you get her with white hair... and yes definitely check the blue pony tab on Strawberry Reef like NightGliderSA posted! :)

You know what? For my *very first* G1 purchase (as an adult that is) I bought 3 ponies from an Etsy seller and she had a Barnacle and I loved him and nearly bought him, but I though, 'no, this is silly, I don't need *four* ponies' (little did I know).  And now it kills me because he was beautiful and a great price, and I haven't seen another one at an affordable price. Someone snapped him up within a couple of days.

I have looked at Strawberry Reef, thank you NightFliderSA. So many beautiful ponies!!!! I want all the blue ponies!!!! Come to me ponies!!!!

(I have Hopscotch, one of my favourites, adore her.)

I was going to say Sky Rocket if LAW didn't ;) There are some lovely blue/red ponies actually. Not just Sky Rocket and Barnacle but Cherry Sweet is another one. She is a European exclusive but you're in Europe and she's not the hardest to find european/UK pony out there, so you can probably hunt up a cheap one on ebay if you look hard enough.

I would say Bright Eyes (TE) but that requires importing which requires overseas shipping cost. She is stunning though.

Looking at alt birthflowers is bad for you ;)

Also, unless you have absolutely no sense of smell, I would avoid Chocolate Chip (aka Coco Berry). I consider her a lethal weapon in the scent department.

Pristina and Taffeta are probably not on the cheap list, snd also weren't sold here so there is added cost involved.

I think the mgr is Brilliant Blossoms and she was sold here :)

Oops. Sorry, I didn't know they weren't sold over there. ^^;
Thanks for the name,

Thanks everyone, you're lovely.

Bluebelle arrived here yesterday, with lots of staining from previously wearing tack but haven't tried to get it off yet, hopefully it will come clean.  She also has crazy hair, not cut but bonkers, so I'm really looking forward to a spa day for her.

I am looking out for a Barnacle and a Nightglider, will let you know how I do!  Quarterback is completely dreamy, I would be sooo happy to find him.

Yes I seriously have to forget I ever saw the alternate birth ponies.  I'm not interested in any scented ponies, do not like that sort of thing.  I'm also a bit of a purist and don't much like the TE (creepy) or MGR (weird) ponies.
