is that what it is? thanks for identifying it. I've never heard of em before. I wonder if we have em in California? I'm gonna go check.

Very cool! Too bad you did not get to see him taking the prey. I have seen a few cooper hawks here in the process of catching and eating their dinner.

Yep it's a Coopers hawk. Amazing pictures. There are Coopers and Red Tails around here.
