Title: Lite Brite/Peggy Mane
Post by: Leave a Whisper on January 02, 2021, 06:59:43 AM
I found Lite Brite Pony. (Her name sucks.)

Her box and artwork are cute!

Her head is weird, the eyes too low and she needs cheekbone and eye socket sculpting.

Her colors are very pretty and unusual. She's got symbols on both sides. Her symbol even has a symbol. Her plastic feels hard, but rubbery. Its weird.

She's smaller then G1s and G3s. Bigger then G4s and TLS and closest in size to G2s. Also, the TLS Pony has far better face sculpting.

Congrats on getting her!  Her hair looks better than in the publicity pics, I think.  That's interesting about the plastic texture.  Do you think it could be painted on?  I was thinking of getting one and removing her old eyes and painting new ones on.  But if it's a rubbery texture I wonder if that would work.

I'm not really sure? I've been thinking of doing the same myself. She's only $12.99 so I guess a person could get one to experiment on, and one to keep just in case.

I forgot to mention that her tail can move side-to-side.

Oh, that's interesting! I've never seen a toy like that before

Congrats on the find! I'm not a fan of these crossover ponies' eyes, they seem too low on the face--some kind of odd misprint? This one has cool colors. I wish the mane/tail lit up!

I agree that it totally looks like the eyes are sliding off their faces, but I feel like I'd really want to get her regardless because I remember playing with a lite brite when I was little.
Is her hair somewhat transparent? I swear the original looked like the mane resembled the pegs a bit more.

Grats! I love her color scheme so much—she’s one of my favorite MLP designs in years. :)

Her mane has a nice semi-transparent look to it. Not glassy transparency, but definitely obvious in person.

Starrynights, Lite Brite is a toy that’s been around for a long time. Since the 60’s. It’s a lit box with holes that you put a black sheet of paper on. The paper has a pattern and you insert clear, translucent pegs according to the pattern. It makes an illuminated, raised pattern when you turn the light on in the box. Overall it’s a very cool toy. It’s still sold.

Yeah, the eyes bother me to no end.  Light up hair would be cool, but would also up the price.

It totally does. Like that one artist who had those clocks that laid around like sunny side-up eggs on barren landscapes. The Twister Pony would be a great candidate for moving the eyes

The hair is semi-translucent.
