I made a thread in the Off Topic forum that allowed me and other members to show our support for those killed in the Connecticut shooting. All that was said in the thread was that me and the members who posted in it were sad for the people affected and that we will be thinking about them, etc. Why was it deleted? There's nothing in the rules that says a thread like that cannot be made. I think it's unfair, we should be allowed to show our support for those experiencing hard times of all sorts.

It was moved to WYP and merged with the similar thread. It's too heavy a topic for Off Topic, which is meant for light conversations. It was NOT deleted.
-
Oh well it seemed like it was just deleted because it isn't in the Off Topic section anymore and I didn't receive a notification of any sort.

As far as I know, the site does not notify about merging thread. However, if you had looked at your own posts from your profile, you would have found it along with the note that it was moved and merged.

I just looked at my posts and the thread isn't there nor is the thread in WYP there. So even if I had looked there, I wouldn't have know that it was deleted unless I had come across the thread in WYP and read through it all.

Profile > Show Posts > scroll down a bit until you find your post.
