Firefly, she is badass and brave, but.. she has no firefly symbols..Couldve been Lighting Mane, or Storm Kick.
My best explanation for Firefly is "lightning bug".

Also the word "fly", she does fly after all! 
Honestly I like it more when a pony's name is a cute/fun twist or pun on their symbol. Rather than when their name is exactly what their symbol depicts (like Bubbles and Seashell. I get that these also work as cute nicknames, but still).
I guess Blue Belle can join this club too. Assuming her name is supposed to allude to the flower bluebell, and she's not just a blue beauty. Maybe she feels some kinship to Glittering SHS Sunblossom, since both have flowerbased names, but stars for symbols. (and then there's Starflower, who has the star part, but not so much the flower part in her symbol)
I do really like Firefly as a name too. Some ponies just have nice names that has nothing to do with therye symbol, or even ''powers''. More to this thread. G2: Tipsy Tulip & Dizzy Lizzy.. enough said  Some of the baby G2 ponies also have names that do''not'' line with the symbol. Rumba & Samba, Fire & Flame.

I have missed alot! I like the style, reminds me of G2 a bit. So the movie and series is def something I am wating for then!
I dont mind the names. I dont really collect toys more, especially newer. Unless there is gonna be something super cute, I dont think I will be buying any toys.

I have both! I really like theyre names. Was never a big fan of baby G2's, but all of them are cute. So I bought them whenever I could just for kick's.

Hahah this is fun. hilamb is a dark orange alicorn pony with rainbow hair, a star theme, and wears bows. Moondrop is a medium-green pegasus pony with hot pink hair, a toy theme, and no gimmick. Lazer Diamond is a bright orange pegasus pony with teal and yellow hair, a ladybug theme, and is a baby. Olive Wind is a cyan pegasus pony with dark orange hair, a candy theme, and curly hair. Sparkle Kick (Sparky) is a muted yellow unicorn pony with orange, purple, and pink hair, a dog theme, and is a baby. Coffee is a grey alicorn pony with yellow, white, and pink hair, a cake theme, and no gimmick.

I would not mind a reboot of G1 friends and tales. I love Sailor Moon & Crystal too.
