Firefly VS Rainbow Dash!

Well in G1 there was Firefly who if I remember (I grew up a G3 kid) was the speedy athletic pony who wasn't afraid to her her hooves dirty, and here in G4 we have Rainbow Dash who is the same but also a tomboy.

Do you think if all the generations could live together in the same little world, they'd get along? Or would they have a rivalry like Rainbow and that griffin dude? (Please excuse my lack of knowledge on "Griffin Dude", I don't watch the show xD)

I see Firefly as Lightning Dust, with less ego and twice as kind as RD. Definitely NOT a jerk!

Rainbow Dash’s personality is modelled on Firefly’s, Lauren Faust’s best pony; she just had to choose names from some kind of Hasbro-approved list.

Neither of them is a Gilda, so I would agree that their relationship would probably be closer to that of Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust at the beginning of Wonderbolts Academy, when Lightning Dust hadn’t yet shown her douche side.

I have just finished reading a fan fiction which had a pegasus called Firefly as Rainbow Dash's mentor when she was a filly learning how to fly!

I can't say I agree with the direct comparison that Rainbow Dash is the same character as Firefly - I always think its a little insulting to the character development in FiM and in many ways to the original Firefly. I know they are both pegasus and I know they are both perhaps forceful characters but for me are more different than alike.

I think if they lived in the same world they would get along just fine as they are dissimilar enough - I cant imagine Firefly's character being as boisterous and competitive as Rainbow Dash.
