Making Flickr account private

I thought I had accomplished this, but apparently not. :/

I switched from Photobucket to Flickr with the impression that I could make my photos totally private and no one else could view them, as I've seen mentioned here before. Before I uploaded stuff I made sure to change my privacy settings of who can view to "Only You (private)" and I assumed that it worked. . .but it didn't. Today I got an email saying someone added my photo to their favorites and found out that all of my photos are visible to everyone. I'm very angry, because I know people think its okay to just save photos from Flickr and do whatever they want with them (AKA art theft) which is why I didn't want to even have a Flickr.

Is there any way to make my Flickr ACTUALLY private without editing every single photo on its own? If not, is there a way to delete my entire account and all of the photos on it?

Ugh I don't know as I don't use Flickr. I'm sure you could contact their staff to have them close your account if nothing else.

I have both a work public account and a private personal account. But when uploading pictures I had to set public or privacy as I went and if I want to change the settings, I believe you have to do it individually.

Yeah, I switched back to Photobucket when I had the need for private albums.
