Title: How have you relaxed today?
Post by: Mana Minori on August 14, 2020, 06:27:36 PM
I had a swell day, full of relaxation today. Lounged around in a pool that I had all to myself for a few hours. Then I washed my hair and had a little spa day (with Twilight Sparkle). Bath salts, bubble bath, strawberry margarita and chocolate cookies as Bath time treats. Followed by a facial deep cleaning, a face mask and cookie eye cucumbers, foot mask, and then a facial massage, and some ice cream for an after bath treat. I feel pretty mellowed out.

What have you guys done to relax, today?

Played Them's Fightin' Herds until I felt insecure about my slow learning and some jerk beat me ten times in a row and taunted every time, as if I didn't already feel bad about it...
But it was fun!

huh. For some reason, I thought folks here wouldn’t be too into fan-made projects from g4. Thanks for proving me wrong. Sorry about the jerk beating you, but hey- the more you practice playing , hopefully the better you can get! Glad you had fun, at least, and that it relaxed you instead of stressing you out!

Bakana, my plushie sharky from Ikea, relaxes me sometimes by insisting on a snuggle session xxx

I will fight you back a bit on this as the game has no ties to pony now despite many people claiming it does. They're not "ponies". Makes it quite annoying to see discussions about the game in the FGC where people keep saying it's a pony game, it's really evolved to be its own thing for the better.
For something on topic, today I will defrizz more ponies, its very fun and it makes the Mcdonalds releases look so much better.

I like this topic. I laid down on the couch in front of the TV with my cat Eclipse burrowed under the comforter we keep on the couch next to my legs. That was pretty relaxing.

Also yeah Them's Fightin Herds has nothing to do with MLP.

I did my usual morning meditation, watched the birds flying around the garden and looked through a book of interesting abstract patterns that appear to be from around the 1920s. Then I had to go and deal with the general public so my relaxed vibe didn't last long. :P

nono. Not looking for a fight. Promise. I only say that because the game started off as a mane 6 fighting game until Hasbro C&D’ed it, and it was reworked to have the other characters. As you already said. I haven’t played it, so that’s pretty much my extent of my knowledge on it. (And  that they got a new character)
But that aside, Pony spa days with defrizzing always stresses me out. Sometimes it takes half an hour of just combing, combing, combing, and they still aren’t defrizzed. How do you do it?

ah, the general public always. ALWAYS puts me out of a good mood, too. I feel your pain.
But it’s nice to hear that you got at least a moment of relaxation beforehand. I mean, as opposed to going to without that and just arming yourself with mental machetes to deal with people.

I was kind of busy, had to take out a lot of trash and go fetch a parcel from the parcel station, plus I was still tired after yesterday's work.

I played The Sims 4. It's so nice to live a virtual life where my sims can accomplish anything. The sims world is so much nicer than the real world. Except for the occasional alien abductions

This is such a sweet thread . I am relaxing right now, by sitting on my balcony with a cup of green tea and a book. Just took a small break from it to check the web 🙂.

Spent most of the day online reading "The husky and his white cat shizun". Unfortuently, it's not fully translated from Chinese and the chapters I am up to are from a machine translation (think google translate) which half the time makes no damn sense.

I have 3 kids, so no such thing as relaxing. But my oldest is now (finally!) in school, and I'm crossing my fingers I can get the twins down for a nap, and after I workout, prepare dinner, and clean some paperwork off the kitchen counter there might be 20 minutes leftover to clean a pony before I have to go pick him up. Cleaning/defrizzing ponies is quite stress-relieving to me too...and so satisfying when it's done!

funny you should say that, I've shampooed & conditioned two ponies then after some time for the conditioner to do its thing hot-rinsed them & another one. One was waiting a while, while another's mane went the wrong way, & the third (who I was told would have hair in need of a good groom) arrived today xxx

That spa day sounds amazing~ I like trying to give myself such things sometimes too, but I just don't have the stuff for it. Usually it just ends up being a mani/petti and maybe a bath, maybe with some candles and oils.

As for today, I haven't had a lot of hours in my own day night yet but mostly just listening to a beautiful ambient music mix and cuddling with my little kitten plushies.

I'm relaxing by sitting down quietly, enjoying the slight hum of distant cars, layers of birdsong and reading a book about dolphins, topped off with a West Indies porter. Maybe a bit early to be having a pint but yesterday was extremely stressful (like getting home and going to bed just to draw a line under it kind of stressful) and I have been very constructive round the house this morning, since around 6am, so I've earnt it. :soda:

Sticking some chillout music on and cooking up a nice batch of homemade rice pudding - with brown rice, goat's milk and cinnamon - oooh, it was good. :yummy: I really like doing stuff in the kitchen, it always helps to me to relax.

I've been re-watching Fairy Tail with my two kitten plushies to chill out for the past couple of days haha. First time I've watched anime in a long time and I'm really enjoying it. I caught a cold too, so I've been curled up in a cute Halloween blanket drinking peppermint tea.

Cleaned out a bunch of rusty bait ponies today, and prepped them for restore. Also dyed one of them for a custom. It tore up my hands and nails because I didn't use gloves when using the rust remover like I should have, but it was relaxing. Something about pulling old nasty mane hair out is so satisfying.

Went on a trip to a home-decor store (Dunelm) and bought a pretty patterned pillowcase, (ostensibly for my kid but I would have it too!) then got some inexpensive pillow-inners from Primark and cheap cases from Asda (set of two for just 2.00 pounds) in a red set and turmeric yellow set; oh, Primark are also selling plain velvet square cushion covers too, only 2.50 pounds, absolute bargain, got a few in red and rich teal.

Now I have created a nest of autumnal comfort for story-telling or just snuggling: a quilt that I made earlier this year (with rich orange and spice colours) LOTS of pillows and cushions in jewel tones - it is heavenly! In fact I am now sat amongst it as I type this on my laptop!

Cushions: a game changer - seriously.

Inexpensive pillows and cheap pillow cases in happy, bright colours - go buy some, fill your bed / sofa with them and SNUGGLE!!!

SO relaxing!!

That sounds amazing! I love cushions too, it's so satisfying to curl up among them with a nice cup of tea.

I've been inspired by the Autumn too and had a quiet morning, baking my first ever cake while enjoying the birdsong outside. It has a rich, warm, spicy flavour and some orange zest and juice to liven it up a bit. I was hoping to get a small, clean slice for the all-important taste test and take a nice, professional-looking photo of it, but the inside is very crumbly, so instead, here's a naff phone photo of an eager Jacob sheep making towards the fruity goodness.

And a picture of the cake, whole, cooling in the tin. The top is a wee bit overdone, so I may give it a few minutes less next time, rather than sticking rigidly to the instructions in the recipe book.

Went to the Polish deli today and couldn't decide what pastries to buy, so ended up buying MANY! Got home, made a fresh coffee and ate a couple *oink* *oink*

I finally figured out that the source of my constant migraines over the last couple of months has been a number of candles I'd had nearby, even though I'd been putting them in plastic wrap thinking that would help. I moved those out, so now that I'm feeling better I'm doing my body a favor by finally getting some proper sleep while I recover.

I took a bus all the way to the end of the line near the southeast corner of the town, then I walked east along the highway until reaching the highway ramp next town, where I turned north under the overpass and walked to the railway station where I took a train home. A nice long walk in drizzly October weather. And then I had a cup of supermarket-brand instant coffee with powdered creamer, because the cheap factor somehow makes it even comfier to me.
