I would personally keep both. But the Baby Brothers are one of my army ponies. I like all of the small differences in ponies. With well over 100 boy ponies, I have seen plenty.

Also, I am wondering if the differences have to do with when [and where] they were released since both Paws and Drummer had a very wide release.

I have two of Baby Paws. One has small eyes, he came from Germany with German packaging. The other has the large eyes and is from my childhood, purchased here in the US.

The one from Germany is also darker in body color.

If it was me I would keep all of them As it looks as though you have a Euro and a US release of both.

I can be pretty bad about getting attached super quick if I don't keep them separate from my main herd.

There are a few scenarios:
1.  I have a childhood pony.  I get Pony #2 of her that is worse condition.  That means I sell Pony #2.
2.  I have a childhood pony.  I get Pony #2 of her that is in BETTER condition.  I keep them both.
3.  I have a pony I bought online/garage sale, etc.  I get Pony #2 of her that is in worse condition.  I will sell Pony #2.
4.  I have a pony I bought online/garage sale, etc.  I get Pony #2 of her that is in BETTER condition.  ---This is my biggest problem.  I will keep them both.  Even though the original pony was not one from my childhood (therefore, in my opinion, I shouldn't really be attached), I can't stand to get rid of my "first" character.
5.  I have a pony (either from my childhood or from my adult years)...Then I get Pony #2 as a gift.  I keep them all. 

Thankfully I don't buy many doubles or lots where I'd get doubles.  Sometimes it just happens.

...This is why you RARELY see me have ponies for sale, lol...

I usually keep every pony I find, unless I have a whole bunch of duplicates of a pony that I'm not particularly attached to. Of course, I'm single and can pretty much put ponies anywhere I want in my house, so I have room for my large collection.

here are playtime brothers- all china but theres always one with large,soft eyes and dark freckles and one with thin dark eyelashes and light freckles.. i even think about a different headmold??the neckjoint inside is different. dont know which one to keep..

They're all adorable! The drummer/paws in the middle almost look sun-faded. It's hard, if you really truly want to downsize then most would recommend keeping the better condition of the multiple...

I usually keep one of each (unless I want a 'nice' version of a particularly well-loved childhood pony.e.g. Noddins).

I would say go with you gut. Pick the ones you like the look of best. If you don't feel like parting with any of them, then keep them for now. 

I'm personally drawn to the middle Drummer with pink freckles and the outer Paws with the red freckles (I think because then their freckles match their hair).

I try not to keep doubles, but I inevitably do, because they are EVER SO SLIGHTLY different. @_@; UUUUUUGH so I just try not to get doubles! LOL!

I usually keep one of each character but can be hard deciding which one to keep. It's hard letting go of variants but there are just so many out there.

hm dont know about sunfading as lightfreckled paws colour and drummers eyes are much darker? i better like the big eyes but bigeyed paws has a body with flaws (could frankenpony them) and bigeyed drummer got a forelock cut..  hubby said i should keep both and both dancing butterflys (hk/china) altough they are just identical..
is the theory of us/eu release possible??? does someone else had the same experience? of course slight variations happen with every pony but i think the babybrother's are quite huge?

Personally, I'd keep the one with big blue eyes because he's definately a cutie, and then decide if I liked black eyeliner with light freckles or brown with dark freckles!
IRL I do the same thing....I have 4 different blue Embers because they're all varying shades of blue!

I definitely think it is a matter of different releases. The Big Brothers are the same way. The "German" / Non-Pat Pend guys vary in size, body color, etc from the US / Pat Pend release. The German boys seem to be darker in color and less prone to discoloration. Even Chief/Funki is a different white.

Tatzi (the "German" one) is darker in color, smaller in size (especially his head) and has smaller eyes.
