Title: Horse ID help
Post by: NightGliderSA on May 16, 2019, 01:56:38 AM
Hi everyone,

I recently found this horse and despite every effort have not been able to ID him. He is of a size that would be suitable for a Barbie to ride but isn't a:

1. Barbie horse
2. Sindy horse
3. Flower princess horse

There is no maker's mark anywhere to be found, just "Made in China" on the inside of one hind leg.

I really hope someone has come across him before

I believe one of my toy horses from childhood shared that mold... Mine came from a “generic brand” horseback riding doll set. The dolls themselves were carbon copies of Barbie, and there were two horses: one was quite large, for the Barbie clone to ride, and the other was significantly smaller... More suited to Skipper dolls. If you could photograph something next to your horse for scale, that would help a lot. :)

Hmm... He’s not the same as mine, but still close in overall design. My money would be on him coming from a horse/doll set similar to the one I described, especially since you can’t find any identifying marks besides “Made in China”.

Sorry I can’t give you anything more definitive than that.

Ah, thank you Nemesis. I reckon you are probably right though given his highly unique colour combo

I think I actually saw that color combo on a horse from one of those sets before (it shared the same mold as my Skipper clone horse).

Nonetheless, congrats on finding him! :)

Hmmmmm... he looks like a unimax horse but I'll have to do some research first.

I was thinking a Kid Kore. He has a similar face to one.

Kid Kore horses don't have painted eyelashes. Kid Kore horses are also always marked kid kore, where this one only says "Made in China". They also always have a year near their stamp.

I'm starting to think that this guy is just a one-off toy that doesn't really belong to a certain toy line.

NightGliderSA, was he found in the wild?

Could be a knock off Kid Kore.
