Have we had a discussion on the anniversary plushes (BF/G1) yet?
« on: February 23, 2023, 02:06:17 PM »
By which I mean the Basic Fun 40th anniversary releases of Glory, Moondancer and Firefly as plushes.

I ask because my sister bought me Glory for my birthday, and I realised I hadn't seen much discussion about them as actual toys on the forum.

Anyone else have any of these yet and want to discuss?

It's late here now and I'm tired so I'll add pics/something more coherent tomorrow if required. The short version is that I think they're very cute and nicely done...

]Not a separate one, but some people definitely talked a little about it when they were announced. I wouldn't mind having Moondancer. These are the first mlp plushies I've liked since G3.

I bought them all 3 for less than 20 euros each from the Dutch Amazon. So it's Glory, Moondancer and Firefly.

And they are not as advertised. They were supposed to come in a box with comb/brush and I read somewhere with a poster.
They come in a ziplock 40th anniversary bag, no brush/comb or poster. And there is no 40th stamp under their hooves.
I uploaded a picture on Amazon review like some others did. I heard that the promobox with 4 ponies in it is legit and some wholesale dealers sell those.

They are very cute plushies and worth their money, but I hoped to see it as advertised.

I wondered about the bag too - perhaps that's the global release. I'd like to compare with what is released stateside because the tag on my Glory does make it seem like a European release (the UK address then the German address - maybe an extra tag?) It's possible that the box is in the US but to save import costs that didn't happen with international releases.

But I am happy with her, honestly. She's a nice size, she has beautiful silky hair and she's very cute.

They were talked about a bit when first announced, but I think mostly got looked over in favour of the Celestials.

I think they're really cute from what I've seen of them! I'm glad to see more new plushies.

I ordered Glory through the UK Amazon website. I would've gotten the others but I couldn't find Firefly and Moondancer was just too expensive.

Glory arrived quickly, in a bag with no accessories and no stamp on her hoof. She did have a tag attached to her too. She's adorable, but I would've liked the box and 40th stamp too.

I'm waiting for them to get released Stateside as well. Super excited about these, especially Firefly. The original Firefly plush was my very first pony, so I'd love to get the BF release of her. ^_^

I didn't know the Basic Fun plushies were out in the UK already.   I'd love to see pictures of how they are packaged.

I'm looking forward to the plushies getting released in the US as I never had the original ones.  I hope they come with the box and brush in the US, but I will still get them anyway, even if they don't.

On Amazon at least. She 65 while the others are 40. In the reviews for Moondancer people are saying she came in a bag too without a comb or anything.

That's very pricey. And I don't have an answer for the difference. Maybe because she is more in demand? I don't know if that was too with the original back then?

Some of the reviews have pictures in them

Oh well, Amazon sucks anyway.  They overprice everything. I only shop when I've got gift cards.

Moondancer & Firefly on US Amazon are being sold by 3rd party sellers. Glory is the only one still available through Amazon UK with a release date of March 1st. Once they are released we hopefully will be able to buy them for MSRP again.
