Hello! I wish I was sleeping right now, but I've been trying for the last four hours with no sucsess so I figured I'd have a cup of tea and write down the things on my mind Well, first of all, my husbsnd and I had a romantic evening with good food and watching DVD's, we finally put up our tree and decorated it too. I've had a rough couple of weeks so this time with him meant a lot to me. We also got tickets for the new Star Wars movie tomorrow and even though I am just a casual fan ( Unlike my husband, who is a real nerd. That's meant as a compliment, I love that about him ) I am actually really excited for it too! The trailers look really great! Also! I just finished an illustration gig that I had massive amounts of anxiety over and I just got an email from the client who said she loved it! And she sent payment instantly! I'm just so overwhelmed by relief, happiness and excitement that I feel wide awake, creative and full of energy! Unfortunately, I really need to sleep, it would be kind of disappointing if I fall asleep in the cinema tomorrow. Not to mention other moviegoers would probably not appreciate my snoring! Anyway, sorry for blabbing on and on...! Do you have any advice? Or do you have similar issues when you are looking forward to the next day? Are you a Star Wars fan? Discuss if you like, I may respond or I may finish my tea and go back to bed. Hopefully the latter

I do a lot of pony fan art because I really enjoy it. Now some of my friends have expressed interest in me putting a few of my drawings on one of those shirt print sites that lets you sell them for part of the profit.
I am super tempted ( mostly because it would be really cool to wear a shirt with my own pony art on it! ) and because I think people might actually like more G1 pony stuff.
But then I am also worried about legal stuff…
The page I'm considering is TeePublic, which is pretty much ONLY fan art stuff on shirts made by devoted fans and they seem to be doing this without any legal troubles.
What do you think? Is it a bad idéa? Or should I go for it?
There is already a lot of pony stuff on that site so I would not be the first…but at the same time I do not want to be disrespectful to the thing I love.
What would you do?
[Moving to Arts and Crafts ~ Thanks, Mirn]

Hey, this is a bit of a silly problem, it's not really a problem, I'm just terrible at social skills and I'm not sure what is proper : : So, I am a happy introvert that is used to not having many friends and my immediate family celebrated christmas without gift giving or receiving. Last year I made a friend though, she's super nice and sweet and has helped me come out of my shell a bit more during the time we've known each other. She is into MLP as well and mentioned on her Facebook that she wishes she could afford a collection of FiM comic books. Since I had enough money and not a lot of other people to spent it on I decided to buy them for her. But I am afraid that since she has a lot of friends that are more close to her than I am she probably isn't counting on getting anything from me and I am worried of her reaction. I know she's had some financial troubles and it makes me happy to give her something she would not spend money on for herself; however that's the thing. I do not want her to feel obligated to give me something in return and I'm also worried getting a gift she did not expect might make her feel bad for not giving something to me ( because I saw the latest episode of the big bang theory where they said that is common. ) Is it better to give it earlier or after christmas? How do I make it clear that this is completely unconditional? Am I reading too much into this thing? Most probably yes : :

I worked for weeks on a custom Maleficent with a G2 base.
Very happy with all except her eyes. I let the original crystals stay and painted around them, but kept going back to fix things so often that it now just looks like a cake mess. The paint on her face looks much too thick and I want to re-do it.
Only problem is I am so afraid to mess up any of the work I did on her headdress, because I had so much trouble making those thin silvery details and I really do not want to have to go over that whole thing again.
Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to wash her face off without mussing up the rest of her? Or should I just seal her the way she is to be safe, I guess she' "okay" enough, but I'd really like to sell her and I would not feel good about trying to sell something that I am not satisfied with :/
I'll post pictures if needed. Please help! D:

Some of you may remember the old Ursula Pony I tried to make this past fall, I worked hard to get her right but in the end the paint I used on her were not of the best quality and melted once the sealer came on So after living on my work desk for a while she finally got a new chance at life as I got some better craft paint and re-did her! This time she's also got her shell necklace and I must admit I am pretty happy with how she came out visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or login

I wanted to practice customizing again and my friend suggested I should make Disney's Ursula. Using a fakie baby as a base and sketched up a design I like. The question is if I can pull it off! Base and idea sketches: First update: Second update: Third update: Spoiler Oh my that hair was tricky! It was so much more difficult to get the clay to stick on the head than on the body for some reason, haha! And I also forgot to sculpt her earrings before I boiled her, so I guess I'll just have to paint them on.visitors can't see pics , please register or loginFourth update: Spoiler So, her hair and "bra" fell off when I attached her head. Will glue them back on later. I pretty much just put some white paint on a wet sponge and dabbed her with it to give her skin more texture and make her paler. Looks kind of messy right now but I think it will work out nicely in the end visitors can't see pics , please register or loginFifth update: Complete! Well, almost, I still have to seal her and make her necklace, but I think that might take a while because I can not find the little shell I wanted to use for it visitors can't see pics , please register or loginIt was so difficult but at last I am satisfied with her, sure there's room for improvement ( like not caking on the paint as much next time maybe ) but I learned a lot and had fun! And I like her. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginShe hope you like her too, you poor unfortunate souls visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThank you all so much for encouraging me through this!

Long rambling story here: Spoiler Some time ago jupiternwndrlnd held a raffle to benefit Tiella's adorable son Reed.
I never seem to have a lot of money but I was very moved by the story as well as the kindness of eveyone here on the Arena. I donated what I could and got some tickets in return.
The raffle ended and I was surprised to fin out my ticket got drawn and I had tenth pick! jupiter told us to be ready for what price to pick and I went through the list and discovered that Saply was on there!
I had been drooling over her customs from the first moment I saw them on the forum and was very excited!
Though I was sure she would allready be picked by the time my number came up but somehow I got super lucky and got to pick her after all!
I was so happy and excited and I knew exactly what I wanted.
My first childhood Pony was 7 tales Clover. I identified a lot with her TV-show character as a kid and would often put her next to my bed just to look at her before falling asleep.
I never owned a custom pony ( by someone other than myself that is ) so I only saw it fitting to have Clover be my first even in this. To get someone as talented as Saply to make a G4 version of my first pony was a dream come true! But she went above and beyond with my request and added not only an adorable lunchbox but also a whole extra pony based on my avatar! Here is the package as I first was beginning to unpack it, all wrapped up with cupcakes and magic visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere is everything that was inside, a lovely letter and super cute stickers! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginHere is a better look at the kitty lunchbox! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginMy childhood clover together with her new G4 sister and the little blindbag I repainted visitors can't see pics , please register or loginAnd at last, the two lovely girls at the top floor of the G4 wedding castle visitors can't see pics , please register or loginThey soon moved next to my bedside table...so that I could look at them for a while, before going to sleep Thank you a million times Saply, I honestly can not imagine a kinder or more thoughtful customizer and I will always be grateful and moved by the generosity of Arena members.
