TarkanDragon, I have looked for it writing the so little info I have on it, haven't been lucky.
I wish I could remember the names, I want to say the youngest child's name was Simon, but not sure about it at all.
So 4 children, older girl around 11-12, 2 middle children I believe boy and girl and a baby who was crawling. Animation style similar to Sunbow stuff, maybe little bit more detailed.
Really don't remember much else.
A friend of mine I asked who is same age as me and we used to live in the same country at the time is telling me maybe I dreamed about it. No, I am sure it existed even if I was young when I watched it. He was able to help me know another show I had memories of which was about same time, early to mid eighties shown in my country, called Dr Doolittle which was an anime version of Dr Doolittle.
Hmm... Yeah, I understand and see atleast. However I got curious to look it up basing on what you said and it brought me to "Jamie and the Magic Torch" but it's not the one you're talking about probably. Also I think maybe something to do with country specific if any. Also when you mentioned about Dr Doolittle anime, it kinda weirdly caught me off guard if any. Although I think maybe to have an idea you can like try to draw the characters of what they look like (if not the writing but rather drawing could help). I mean I've had that instance when it comes to drawing and I know I've acknowledged the Sunbow Style pretty well, although thankfully me learning the sunbow's style would help me see the similarities. Also I've never got around to ask if the magical land had creatures of some sort. And if there's any characters there that maybe you might remember. But I doubt it since it might be a long time to remember what exactly. Same goes to like what company made the cartoon at the time. Welp, hopefully you'll find that cartoon if any. Sorry if there's nothing else that can put your mind to like remember something. Maybe some reminding's can help you out. maybe looking for the category of the mid-80s cartoons or maybe talk to your friend more about it. Not sure if it helps or not but either way. that is a really hard-to-find cartoon if any.

Y'know, I want to say this from the top of my lungs.
The characters that should have toys in my opinion which it would be these guys:
1. Weston (G1) - Reason: he goes so well with Spike (G1).
2. Student/Creature/Young Six - Reason: Did they really forget that they made ton of Spike figures yet no proper toys for these creatures. (I'd really like for a Smolder toy even so)
3. Most of MLP's minor characters (Like Ember, Garble, Thorax, etc.) - Reason: may not be needed but I'd thought it would be a good thing to add.
4. Whimsey Weatherbe - Reason: Even though she is a part-villian, she is a great character that should've made a toy.
I think these are my top picks. Although I was going to like include the Bushwoolies cousins and such but apperently there are prototype models of them so out of the question for that. unless if it counts.

Ponyfan. not this one, it does sound close with children from this world going elsewhere, it also has different style of animation than this one, should be closer to Dungeons and Dragons style somewhat.
Y'know maybe you can also explain more of your memories for hints to find it. I mean if you have memories of it, might as well try to explain if any. Maybe try to remember the character names or what others are in store? maybe it would help if any. But if you don't have anything else in mind then guess we can look and find what you've explained so far. I'm tempted to know more about this because it's something new to me that I never knew before. But actually more obscure than the other shows that we seen. I wish you luck and others anyway.

I know this is a long shot, but I am trying to find a title of this animated series? from the 80s I assume.
It could have been a mini series (not sure about that) it looked a bit MLP G1 style of animation (perhaps more detailed as I remember)
It was 4 children, the oldest was a girl, and the youngest a baby brother who was crawling. And there were another girl and boy in between the siblings.
So somehow those children were on a magical adventure outside of their home in another land? maybe. I remember a scene they were underwater. I don't remember any of the magical creatures I assumer were on.
I hope this rings a bell to anyone 
Hmm... Well I mean I haven't heard about this show before either but then again I'll keep on eye on it. Although I would briefly mention that D&D had a similar MLP G1 style, not sure if that's the one since it does feature humans mostly. but I don't recall a mini series about this. But can't wait to see. I mean I doubt it was moon dreamers or any other Sunbow animation that has that. But I can assure it's not by Sunbow, I don't know. Let me know if any because I'm curious what's this about. And hopefully it would be found.

Well, I know I have not met him before. But, hearing this and how everyone's reacting is just shocking. So in all respect, I'll provide my condolences to his family and friends. Even though I don't know what he is like at the time until I did a bit of a research that he's really interested with G1 like me. So I have massive respects to him and his family and friends.  Wish I would've meet him, but I didn't know him at the time.

Honestly after looking at these I pray and hope of trying to get the hands of the Spike's search storyboard and sheets.
Maybe there's something more that we didn't get a chance to see.
Also I've been practicing a lot about Sunbow's style at one point and this really helped reguardless.
Thank you and keep me updated if there's anything new I'm really hyped about these. And maybe there would be templates as well.

Holy! Looks really close to being accurate! Great job! Sorry if I haven't seen this but this is amazing! Now I think maybe the position is a bit off but that maybe can be fixed when it comes to rigging. So, you did an amazing work!  keep it up! and hopefully we would see more about G1 models. (and maybe make them downloadable)

This is just my personal opinion, but . . . ponies look better with shorter manes. Like the length of G1 Glory or Blossom's mane. I think I'd like even the not-so-horsey gens more, like G4, if they had more modest hair + forelocks. (Just to be really pedantic, I do not consider bangs (like G3.5 Cheerilee) to be the same as a forelock. Has to be a thin bit of hair going straight down the nose.)
I had Brush 'n Grow Bouquet as a kid and her mane made her not-fun for hairplay, ironically. It got in the way. It was too thick for my clumsy little-kid hands to style. And when I tried to brush and comb her, the bristles / teeth broke off.
I agree that short manes usually look better and are certainly easier to manage.I have a trait I dislike the most. [Spoilered for your own risk just for safety reasons.]
Spoiler Mine would be IDW.
Honestly I really don't know why IDW just simply ruins the characters and the story. The problematic part is that most fans consider IDW to be CANON even when it really doesn't.
Spike is one of the characters that IDW actually ruined. I couldn't felt more sick of how they did Spike. I mean when I look back in G1 comics, they're pretty standard yet kept in their character traits and really came up with better stories. But what IDW just does is this: leT's do A RaNdoM ArC That EvEryoNe Go HyPe By HaViNg DiSCorD tO DeAl WiTh A cRazY Ex tHat wAs NevEr In tHe ShOw AnD MeSs WiTh tHe ChaRaCters.
That's not how supposed comics work IDW. Even nowadays You're slacking off that would later on your compony would shamble from your corruption.
I mean the arcs that they do weren't good to me. They're just like, what the heck were they thinking? Are they really desperate for attention with their audience?
I'm sorry if this is a massive vent. Because I know that IDW was not my personal flavor taste and I wouldn't even try to bother looking at the artstyle they gave for MLP:FIM.
But that's not all as when they did the MLP:Generations thing, Did they even bother to know the original G1 characters? Or even what G1 supposed to be.
It could've been an actual past or the year 1980.
But NO! IDW has to make it into some sort of dimension. HOW DOES THIS MAKES SENSE?! I know Equestria girls were a thing and I happen to dislike it. But is IDW really trying to lean on Equestria girls than the actual ponies? I really don't want to like have myself to look at the comics because I couldn't handle the wrongness of IDW trying to ruin the franchise like that.
Especially G5 that had Discord when he never appears in the show.
And they also starting to ruin Sparky as well. but I'm a bit thankful that G1 Spike didn't even came to the IDW Generations comics because I don't want my idol to be ruined by it.

That was a long rant and yet my opinion of a popular trait that I actually dislike and yet others like.
I just wish Archie comics would still kept their business since Archie was the comics that I actually enjoy with Sonic ones.
And I just wish IDW would just look back at their stuff that they did with MLP.
I'm sorry if this actually something that no one agrees but this is my opinion. And also offends any IDW fans about this.
If anyone would ask me to take this post down. Or want me to remove the rant I have said. Let me know. And I apologie for this message. I just want to get this off of my chest. Any feedback is appreciated although I'm really uncomfortable talking about IDW and it's popular corrupting traits.
also TheClassCalico if you read this I don't know if this is alright even though that what I said was actually a bit "toxic" rant but I honestly really felt unconfortable talking about what I dislike.
No worries! For future reference, this thread was intended to be about the toylines rather than pieces of media surrounding the franchise, though. It's my bad for not clarifying that. Personally, I disagree, I thought that the comics did an amazing job but that isn't to say that I always liked them or that I thought everything was handled well.
Well it's your opinion and I understand as well. Although I would say not that all everyone was into IDW. Most of them loved it and Most of them hate it. In fact I have met a friend of two who had the same opinions as mine. I wouldn't tell who exactly but... My opinion still stands of my taste of IDW. Maybe yours is a bit different. To me I don't think it was handled very well. Even when I didn't expect your opinion to be towards with the like side of IDW. But I'm not gonna complain about that and let you do you without force. (and I hope you don't complain about it either and then make me try to read IDW, because, like I said: not my cup of tea or my taste of comics) But in all honesty; Sometimes it's blind to know who actually likes IDW and who isn't. And I happen to be in the side of the dislike part. Hopefully after the point I happen to make does respond your disagree as I understand that you may happen to like IDW while I don't but I'm not gonna start a fire over that. Anyways, as for the toy line part since you now clarified. There's nothing else that made me dislike the traits other than the MLP G4 movie stuff. It really feels like well... *bad* flashbacks with the G4 movie. But yeah that's the only thing I dislike that the movie just got it's toy treatment and it still make me unsure about it. Hopefully this answers the question as well. I've made my part and hopefully you understand as well. Sorry if I had to like respond in a way you'd never expected and you also clearified that this is about toys an yeah I understand. Thank you and take care.

Not too sure but I get the feel like it's G1 except no special creatures or even humans. The ponies have lived in a modern world environment. I'm still wasn't sure that G2 toys were different than the ones in the show. Wish that maybe it would have humans, dragons, any mystical creature, etc. to be in the show.
Confused. G2 didn't have a show? Do you mean MLPTales? That's still G1  G2 only had a PC game and a bunch of comics.
Ah yes that. Although not sure about the comics since I have not got around to see them.
