Hello everyone,
You know how you have really rare/pricey ponies on your wishlist and you can finally afford the high pricetag and get them, only to find you love them so much more then you thought you would?
I had that with my first piggy blossom, and I befriended the nice person who sold her to me. I also had it with mimic. I payed a pretty penny but she's one of my all time favourites now.
So, which ponies are totally worth it to you? Any generations are welcome. Feel free to share your stories :)

Well. The priciest pony for me was Argie orange Whizzer, and yes I think she was worth it. Especially because of Argie prices now, I wouldn't spend what people are selling for, so, I wouldn't even have her otherwise.
As far as ponies on my want list, I think Piggy Rayito would be worth it, but at the same time I would not pay after a certain amount. My budget varies from month to month and I'd have to save up for her, but I'm not sure to how much... but I know too much when I see it.
-
Unique Piggies for me too, my fave is the cloud one (Algodente or something???). I love my two Argie adults & my Baby Posey too, & Lambaditsa is quite special
-
I'd say any Nirvana pony is worth the price. I'm also a big Mimic fan and I'm probably biased, but I think getting her was the best decision I made, personally! Worth the money I spent (wouldn't go over $300USD for her though.)
-
Possibly a Takara!
-
My Mexican Prince ponies! I paid quite a bit to get all three (I think I ended up paying around...$160-ish?), but they were entirely worth it. They're now pretty much my favorite ponies in my collection, it brings me so much joy to see them all together.
Aside from the Princes, I think basically any rarer boy pony (Mountain Boys, UK Exclusives, etc.)/Nirvana boy pony I don't have would be worth the price. Someday I would love to own an Argie Baby Ribbs; I've been keeping an eye out for one for awhile now with no luck, but if he showed up and I could afford him, I would jump at the chance, even if he was expensive. Also Argie Baby Bows. I love Argies so much!
Eventually I know Ice Crystal will be worth it too, once I find one I can afford! He's been my ultimate grail since I was just a kiddo.

I have a Greek Ladybird pony. She's so pretty and unique. She was a gift from my partner so I don't think i'll ever sell her.
-
I know I would pay good money for a custom high-quality figurine/plushie of Fizzy or Wind Whistler.
-
I suppose it depends how badly you want that pony. I recently paid a lot for a pony because she was my ULTIMATE GRAIL  so she is definitely worth it or I wouldn't have done it.
The way I see it is this: I don't spend a lot of money on clothes, or going out to restaurants or bars and clubs, or dental treatment (never even had a filling), so the money I've saved over the years that others spend, is ok to spend on ponies :P

Brazilian Paradise. No contest.
As a kid I always wanted Paradise. But SS ponies didn't exist in the UK. In the factfile, it shows Paradise, so I never thought she didn't exist as a regular pony. As a kid I also wrote stories about Magic Star, Cherries Jubilee and Paradise. In fact, this gives more information on that...

Anyway. Since Brazilian Paradise is the only Paradise that reflects the one I imagined as a child, it's her. I like the SS fine, but she's not really Paradise to me.

Re Unicorno was more than worth what I paid for him IMO. I think the only other pricy pony I'd go for is Felicidades... maybe Alt December Holly too. But I wouldn't go over £200 and even that would be my absolute max.

Mountain Boys!
-
Any pony that is rare! It’s fun and rewarding getting them!
-
My Rapunzel I snagged off ebay 8 years ago for $400. She is the gem of my US G1 collection and considering what her going rate is now, I'm happy with what I paid for her.
-
For me it's the G2 petites. I got mine MIP quite a few years ago, for I think the largest sum I've paid for anything MLP.
I believe there was an auction a couple of weeks back on FB for 2 other sets and well... it surpassed what I paid so I'm happy that I got a good price (and that I'm not the only nut to pay that much)
-
i think my best one that was worth the money was the ones i didn't realize I was getting I remember getting a lot and in it was diamond dreams, crumpet, baby crumpet and a white tootsie mainly cause they were goals of mine and i just got them randomly in a 'bait' lot that didn't look too baity.
-
My parents got me Greek Ladybird for Christmas one year, and she was even better in person!
-
My giant G3 pony project artist blanks. They are really lovely in person and I LOVE how big they are.
-
Oooh, I'd agree with the Piggy Pony - I don't own one (yet!!!), but their rarity and uniqueness makes me agree with the opinion that they are very worth their prices! It's harder (for me!) to justify the prices being paid right now for, like, Nightglider and Mimic, for example, since they were 'playline' ponies and thus weren't particularly hard to find back in the 80s. Unless they were shortpacked, but even then, I'd be more likely to find a Mimic in the wild at a garage sale versus a Greek Piggy Pony nowadays! :lmao:

Some of those rare nirvanas. I have two of the G1 Indian Funskool ponies and I feel they're totally worth what I paid for them. Special purchases!
