I'm having a lot of struggles with my mental health at the minute. Not wanting to go into too much detail, but just for some context I live with PTSD and my symptoms have got worse during the global pandemic (not being able to travel, see family & friends etc.) :redface:
BetterHelp is advertised EVERYWHERE and I'm just curious if anyone here has any experience with them. I'm currently on a waiting list for therapy with another service but this could be up to 6 months. Online counselling for a few weeks in the meantime might help me out a bit.
So if you've used them before I'd love to know if it helped you. Sending love and hugs to you all - I hope anyone else feeling bad at the minute gets a ray of sunshine sent their way :sunny:

I am in the UK the exact same boat, I struggle with moderate/severe depression, severe anxiety and PTSD. Like you the PTSD has been much worse since lockdown, as it had taken away my coping techniques. I reached crisis last June 2020, finally sought help in September 2020 and I am *still* waiting for intensive trauma focused CBT, due to being sent round the houses for help. GP changed my medication to a more PTSD focused medication, it has helped a little.
I haven't heard of BetterHelp though.

hugs to you too, pinkie ! :tackleglomp: I had trauma-centred CBT in 2019 through the NHS. It did help in the sense of just getting your story out there and being more comfortable talking about it. I hope you get an appointment soon and that it helps you out x

I remember a lot of scandal around Betterhelp in 2018. People have been randomly charged, the terms and conditions read that although they claimed to provide licensed therapists, they had no liability to provide one to you. A lot of people reported unprofessionalism and unhelpful therapists.
I'm not sure how much has changed, but do try to comb through the ToS to make sure whatever health service you find provides your needs!

I was wondering about trying them myself tbh, but never actually took the leap. I think I need an in-person psychologist or something.
