I see you counted some G4s that haven't been officially released.

so we can include...

DJ pon3 , Nightmare Moon, Zecora, Flower Wishes (?), Lemon Tart (?)

Lyra, Trixie, Cherry Berry, Sunny Rays, Princess Cadence, and Shining Armor were spotted in Malaysia recently so I went ahead and counted them.

hahaha, absolutely Thankfully, I´m not interested in actively pursuing G2 and G4, but even so, I expect I´ll never have them all ^^

and this is EXACTLY why i simply hunt for ponys...im not going to try and catch em all cause i certainly cant afford to unless i get really lucky...ill grab the new stuff i want..and get lucky with grab bags and thrift stores and quick sales of small amounts of collection and just keep myself happy

I counted my G1, G3 and G4. I don't have all the ponies but I finally decided to count them when I saw this thread.

G1 (unique individual ponies) 651

I did not count petites or charms or bushwollies or the repeats of same pony like Regular gusty/Sosoft gusty, etc. I just counted it as one pony if I had it. This is also counting the unique Argentina ponies I have and all the unique Internationals I own.

G3 + G3 exclusives 339

G4 regular play line I have 19
Fashion Styles 8
Which brings my g4 to 27

This is not counting blind bags but I only have the first set right now

My total on ponies I have is 1017

If you added all the repeates or other ones I didn't count I'd have more since I have all the mommy charms for G1 and I have almost all the petites. i didn't count the fuzzy bunny, cat, doggie pets that came out but I have most of them to.

This is something I've always wondered aswell However I personaly wouldn't mind counting different versions of the same pony.
Because, even though I know it will never happen, I want to catch em' all

Think the easiest way to get a somewhat accurate number would be to count the list on say MyLittleWiki or something like that would it not? If anyone could actually be botherd to do so xD

I'll second that!!  I think it's really 2 different questions.  How many CHARACTERS for each gen, and how many PONY FIGURES for each gen?  If it's characters then I think the 600-700 sounds about right.  Figures, then LBS's estimate seems pretty good!

I do have MIB g4 as well, I counted the unboxed ones. I'll be getting the Gray wonder pony at the Fair.

I also didn't count the amazing bait cabinet full of abused and ponies needing TLC.

I hadn't counted in a while and went ahead and did it because someone is always asking the question how many do you have...now I have a number I can tell people, a little over 1,000 on the wall-O-Pony.

  Fun thread! I really would like to own all the G1's, but don't want to have more than one of each character - UNLESS it's REALLY different looking (so soft versus NSS, etc) - but applejack in one pose versus another I don't care about, I just want to pick ONE - if that all makes sense. I DON'T want BBE, or Sea ponies. And I don't want ANY of the Sweetheart Sisters molded ponies, just the fat and stumpy G1s that I loved so much as a kid!

I wonder how many I would have still to go with that particular custom list to collect. Any stabs at that?

Oh my, I thought I was doing well on my collection of about 470 G1s...looks like I have a very long way to go!

Just looking at the nirvana forum makes me drool, and my wallet shrivel in terror - this may be a quest for life!

This is a very interesting thread, it's a question I've asked myself periodically for 30 years!
