What's the new popular Hasbro girl toy, Target-exclusive?

This might be a shot in the dark, but I thought this would be the place to ask. If anyone would know, it would be here.

I work at a bookstore but we have a section for popular children's toys. Yesterday one of my coworkers was talking about a (new? or newly popular) Hasbro girls toy that a bunch of customers keep coming in and asking if we have, but apparently it's a Target-exclusive?

Curious, I asked my coworker what the toy was, but he said he didn't remember the name of it. He just remembered that everyone kept asking us for something that is only at Target, and he said it was similar to the little LOL surprise dolls.

Any ideas what it could be? I'm just curious about new toys and I like to know what the new big things are for kids.

It's not Lost Kitties because that's sold elsewhere.
LPS is not Big anymore and is sold at Walmart.
I don't know who does Capsule Chix, but those are at Walmart too.
Hmmm.

-headdesk- So my curiosity got the better of me and I made more inquiries at work about these 'hot new toys', and apparently this is what everyone has been talking about? They're called "mini brands"?

2.) I don't think they're really aimed at girls?
3.) They're not Target exclusive.

4.) I have noooo idea why these would be popular.

This just goes to show that you don't go by what your coworkers are saying about toys unless they are a toy collector like you are, because they will get all the details wrong.

I don't collect them, but from what I've seen people use them a lot as doll accessories!

They're very popular with doll collectors. and sort of hard to find right now. There are some pieces that are metallic and are only in 1 out of 300 balls.

Since my last post here on Dec 10, no less than four customers have come up to me on various days and asked if we carry Mini Brands lol. Considering I work in a bookstore and not a toystore, this is pretty impressive.

Gamestop (of all places!) is the only place I've seen these at. They're cute, I just wish they were more in scale with eachother. They were $10 there, idk if that's a markup or not.

At Walmart they are $5.97 but I haven't seen any for a long time.  There are a  few people who will buy entire cases of the balls at once hoping to get the rarer pieces.

Yeah and then sell the rest on ebay at quite a mark-up. :\ It's hard being a toy collector sometimes.
