The Argentina ponies are lovely and I agree that the yellow and green ponies stand out. South Star is a treasure, I hope you get to add her and a Flutterbye to your collection.

Hi ponies,
What are your Nirvana collecting goals for 2025?
I am not too sure what my collecting goals are right now, I had been after Spain Tex for a couple of years as well as the blue and pink Arco Iris babies from Argentina. My mind has been else where lately so I haven't given much thought on collecting, that doesn't mean I don't love ponies any more though.

I remember LadyG and I agree. I always trusted her instincts as well. Maybe this girl is from that country?? She is too nice to be a fakie or bootleg. She also has too many resemblances from other countries to really fit her in a specific country.
Another collector who used to be well known for South American ponies commented on the defect on her stomach and the dimples on her face. They said it was common to have those on first run ponies or test ponies. She said it was from air being trapped within a fresh mold.
I sure wish this girl could tell us her story!!! It's pretty incredible how clean she is internally as well.
I too wish they could talk and tell us their history, there is still a lot we don't know and ponies that turn up, like this Moonstone, just create more questions. I am glad you mentioned that about the air bubbles in the mould, I can see it now. I was wondering what had made the dimples in her face and on her belly. It is funny how she is a real mix up of characteristics, but you are right. Thanks for clearing up the "torture" If it's first run/test ponies then I am thinking of the factory prototypes from Argentina. The finished ones. So maybe it's something similar. I remember from way back that Chile was mentioned as a possible pony country.
I am glad you remember Chile being mentioned, I knew someone else other than LadyG would remember Yes, "torture" I am very grateful to Kim for sharing her with everyone, some ponies appear once then disappear for every sometimes. Love pkw xxx

I'm really curious about her.
Thank you for all those fantastic pictures of her
I like that her rainbow is broken up, red, yellow and blue in the mane and green for the tail.

Any thoughts on what she could be?? She looks too good to be a fakie and too many details from other countries are all resembled in her...
It's the symbol for me, it is so much like the Peru symbol. I remember LadyG speculating many years ago that there was another South American country that we didn't know about, I have always trusted LadyG instincts. LadyG suggested Chile might be another country that produced ponies, but Ecuador seems to "fit" nicely. Love pkw xxx

I will be closing sales to the EU and NI from 13 December 2024 in my Etsy shop. I have been in tears over this and I am heartbroken after 20 years of selling my pony crafts and 17 years of having an Etsy store.
I have an issue with Etsy since I cannot "remove" shipping to NI from my Etsy shipping profile. This is because NI is considered part of the UK, BUT because of the boarder thing (article 30 etc) I cannot ship to NI due to the possibility it might "leak" into the EU via Ireland.
Are Etsy going to remove/ban my shop for breaking the rules because they haven't put a way for me to stop shipping to NI?
You know it is not just the UK it is affecting, if an Etsy shop in France wants to sell to customer in Spain, the same rules apply.... WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS?

Hi ponies, I only discovered LAST WEEK via TIKTOK of all places that The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will be implemented on 13th December 2024. I had NO IDEA about this, Etsy and eBay have not to my knowledge sent any communications out about this. I am based in the UK and basically the GPSR applies to "micro businesses" and everything you make and sell must have safety warnings/checks and if you sell to the EU and NI you have to have a registered contact there. I *think* this is what it means, but there is nothing clear about it https://commission.europa.eu/business-economy-euro/doing-business-eu/eu-product-safety-and-labelling/product-safety/general-product-safety-regulation_enI do know it applies to digital products and works of art as well at this point I am going to have to stop sales in my Etsy shop to EU countries and NI until I have a better understand as what it all means. It says 1984 for an Argentinian Rockin' Beat Pony Green MOC on eBay. I figured it was the date it was made??? but Ponies in Argentina didn't start till 1986 so I'm confused?

Argentina sold many ponies on "generic art" back cards, which all had the same generic information on. The factory stuck stickers on the fronts of the cards to distinguish some of the releases. The date may well be to do with the licences, patent or other legal information rather than when the pony was sold/released. Isn't "Nirvana Pony" plain and simply referring to a super rare pony?
It can be super rare because of its country of production (e.g Applejack, Made In France), or because of a design goof (e.g Reverse Gusty), or because it was a region exclusive without automatically counting all region exclusives as nirvana (e.g Nachtlicht, because she was exclusive to Germany and because there are two versions of her symbol)
Here is a link to the "What is Nirvana?" thread stickied in the Nirvana forum; it explains what the term nirvana is and when the term was coined etc. It is an umbrella term used for ponies made in countries other than Hong Kong, China and Thailand. https://mlparena.com/index.php?topic=399499.0Taffeta, you know I do the same with your website too :hugs: Love pkw xxx
