Pokemon Gen 7 Sun/Moon talk--starters and what team are you on?

Unfortunately, Alolan Vulpix is exclusive to Sun. Moon gets Alolan Sandshrew. That bit made me pick Sun over Moon.

I picked up my 3ds XL on Saturday and can't wait to get Moon on Friday. Besides playing pokemon go, this will be my first pokemon game since Yellow. Back then none of my friends played so I've never had the opportunity to trade with anyone. I'm excited to finally get to do that part of the game. And I just know I'm going to collect an army of Mimikyu.

Same. My brother basically went "I call Moon!" when we sat down to order them from Amazon. It's okay, though. I want that ice Vulpix so it's all good.

I still want Moon. I like the legendary for it better.

Can't see why Vulpix would be singled out as non-tradeable. We'll know soon enough--my bf and brother both want him but are getting Moon.

I doubt there will be a restriction on trading Vulpix. It isn't a legendary or an event Pokémon, which are usually the only two things that can make a Pokémon not able to be traded.

I would assume it's only special Pokemon that can't be traded at all.  You can still trade special event Pokemon (like the 20th anniversary ones they gave out this year) to people directly, just not via the GTS.  I was able to use the Pokebank to transfer them from my X game to my Y game (I only have one 3DS so I couldn't exactly trade them the traditional way).  Since the Ice Vulpix and Sandshrew should be fairly common within the games I see no reason why they wouldn't be tradeable.  Getting all the megabeasts might prove more difficult because we don't know yet if there's only one per game or not.  My guess is that they're like the legendaries and there's only one of each per game (though some of those are version exclusive as well) and if you want multiples you'll have to play the game multiple times.

Just pre-ordered Moon. I read that this is apparently one of the best Pokémon games ever made according to IGN and Nintendo Life.

Guys, I am epically lazy. I just wanted to let you all know. I pre-ordered it from Amazon and did one day shipping so I didn't have to drive to the game store. I want it on my doorstep when I get home tomorrow. You guys need to have Pikachu use thunderbolt on my lazy butt for this one. But dang, when I get off work, my destination is my house and nowhere else.

There is one feature I wish they would change with Pokémon games, and I know it's a petty one. I'm sure it hasn't been changed in this one. Nicknaming Pokémon. I wish they would let you nickname a Pokémon received from another trainer. It's stupid that they don't. I don't understand this.

I need to re-open my Pokémon bank so I can transfer all of my Pokémon from Alpha Sapphire to Moon. I have an eShop gift card I've been holding on to for a while and I think now it will be used for this (thank you again to the person who sent me it if you are reading this). I am even tempted to get the virtual console Pokémon Yellow and transfer Pokémon from it to Moon, but I am one of those people who cares about natures of Pokémon and I am worried I will get a Pokémon with a bad nature that I trained. Plus they don't have the current movesets. Hmm.....  Or I could just get it for nostalgia's sake. Pokémon Yellow was my first Pokémon game and dang was the little Pikachu so cute.

I went with moon! I always pick off of what legendary I like better because I know I can just get version exclusive pokemon from someone else later.

Just pre-purchased my digital copy and it's downloading the pre-download (or whatever it is called) right this moment.

There's no chance I'll be able to play it before tomorrow evening, though. I have a listening exam in Music History tomorrow morning and then an extra Wind Ensemble rehearsal where I normally wouldn't have one. But next week after Tuesday is Thanskgiving break, so it's all good.

Amazon is telling me that my copy has shipped. My brother gets home around 5 and he's checking the mailbox and front porch to see whether Canada Post or UPS got the job to delivery it.

Alright, now that the games are about to come out I'm going to finally join in on this conversation! I wasn't really involved in this thread before because I didn't want too many spoilers, but I did read what you guys are saying about the special Vulpix and now I'm really glad that I pre-ordered Sun!

So which starter should I choose? I'm really leaning towards Popplio, mainly because of all the hate out there (I think it's cute!) and apparently its final evolution is mermaid-like?! I also like Litten but I don't like its final evolution.

Game Stop says my copy of Sun has shipped and should be here tomorrow. Which is odd since I paid for the 2 day shipping, not the get it on release day shipping. I also ordered the official guide book, but that hasn't shipped yet. Looks like they're not going to ship that until the 18th, which is stupid. I can have my game, but I have to wait until at least next week to get the guide book?
