There was one wave of G4 Fashion Styles that were manufactured in India, does that count as Nirvana since they were seemingly only released in Australia?

They were the Rainbow Dash and Rarity in their gala dresses. I have pictures of the ponies but not of their hoof markings, but they definitely said India.

they say made in India on them?? interesting! Have you seen one in person? I'd love to hear how the paint, plastic etc compares to China versions.

I noticed a brag post with G2 hair variants too....

The term Nirvana was coined before, or in the early years of G3 (I was active then, but I'm blurry about exactly when since I was TP exclusive at that time and the term stated with the Arena). There was a lot of negativity about G2 then as well  so keeping the nirvana term G1 generation specific fits the collector attitudes of that time. A lot has changed since then and I'm wondering if it's worth updating the definition to account for other generations?

I'd like to see a discussion on more clearly defining the demi-nirvanas like Dutch, German, UK, Alt BF etc. I wonder if the US/Canada exclusive sets should be included in that definition as well for a more global perspective? Having some European/Australian exclusives listed as honorary Nirvanas is a rather US centered view in my opinion.

The symbols look a little lighter in color too.

here is another related question, if the HK China switch was at the same time as the Pat pend switch, would that mean there *could* be 4 minor variants for some sets? 1st set wingers have Hk/China variants, now I'll have to check their PP marks too because I was not looking at that before....

how about the Thailand fancy pants? do they PP and non PP sets on the US release? I don't collect this set so I don't have any to look at.

I'm sorry! I should have been clearer. I'm looking to identify ponies (or sets) that had both a patent pending and a non patent pending version where this is their primary difference. so all of them would be HK or Chinese and no other bigger variation like hair color on the German Sunday best or princess sets.

I'm trying to find ways to make identifying these ponies faster and easier.

Family ponies and baby Cuddles also have both versions. Orginal 6 have several variations in hoof markings like this (those I gave up and just need to check them all). Rainbow Curl had both, ....

The photos of the legs I assume are the lighter pink one? from the photos it looks like her inner legs are the same color as the darker pink one?

I'm not a fan of it, but there is a blood test you can ask your Dr. about that can tell gender early, it's intended to look for chromosome irregularities, but it can get gender by 10-12 weeks if I recall correctly. Might be cheaper too.

Oh! the above mentioned smoke or heat damage is a strong possibility  too. that could explain the even color.
