The paint job on some of them look awful. Also, they already have a different alicorn mold with Candance, why need another?

Because these are probably not blind bags. Not to mention that this one looks a lot better than the blind bag Cadance and her tiny head. XP

That Gilda is amazing *-* I really hope these are legit, I would buy up all of these sets.
We will have to wait and see until somebody buys them. If they are legit, then they will have the Hasbro hoofstamp.

I really truly hope those are real.  I NEED that Granny Smith!  And holy wow, Waterfire!!  She's one of my favourite G3's so I cannot wait to get my hands on a g4 blind bag version of her.

Yeah the paintjobs are sloppy, but that's to be expected (remember the Toys R Us blindbag collectors set? Awful quality control).
Shining Armor in particular looks like a sub-average custom.

On the other hand, I'm gonna buy them anyway.
Sigh.

I tend to think they are cheap china knock offs. They do and often get away with doing stuff like this. They do it for plush, figures accessories etc.

lol yeah. XD

This is a good solution to the collectors who are crying out for show-accurate toys. Of course there will still be complaints from some ("omg there is no gradient on Cadence's wings!!11one") but for the most part, I think this is a good idea on Hasbro's part to make the fans of the show happy!

Commonly, movie/tv character sets like these will not reuse the same mold for different characters, too. Even the Happy Feet sets I used for an example in my previous post, each penguin had its own mold and was not a recolor of another mold. So these are quite different from the blind bag sets.

That being said, look to pay more than you would pay for a blind bag pony when these hit the shelves.
Thank you Thimble for my amazingly cute avatar!

The more I look at the pictures in the very first post, the more I am inclined to agree with those speculating that they may be some kind of "Ponyville tiny figurine" set instead of being straight-out blind bags.  The molding on the figures seems more streamlined and a little less "chunky" than the blind bag molds.

Maybe something like this, except with ponies?

Also, is it just me or does it look like Cadence's shoes might be removable?

I'm rather unsure. Wave 6 Blind Bags still aren't out anywhere, so we've got those to come.. and the paint jobs look rather messy. However, there looks to be factory dirt on one of the figurines (at least), which is odd. o.O

Boy, those ponies are a mess.

Oh, how I want them.... ;)

I am guessing separate set too. I wish they'd stop making 500 sizes of ponies and focus on diversifying a couple of sizes.
