Warning about Ice Crystal on EBay

There's currently a MOC Ice Crystal on eBay UK. I was excited at first, but after a quick Google image search I realised they'd just stolen the photo from someone else. This doesn't mean that they aren't selling one but it seems fishy to me. Just a warning to everyone, I don't anybody ending up disappointed!

Yep, it appears to be from the TP's gallery, the photo is credited to a member called 'Centifolia', and was posted to the Gallery by TP Admin in 2007, which negates the 'found it in mum's attic' story, obviously this is a stolen pic, as the image itself is 7 years old at least.

While he may have the pony, why steal an image? It is suspicious as all get out, in my opinion. I mean really? It's not hard to take your own pictures these days, just about every phone on the market has one.

Didn't the person who was selling the South African pony say they "found it in the attic" too? Maybe it's the same scammer, or perhaps that's just the usual line these scammers use.

That is definitely Centifolia's Ice Crystal. I am not sure who she sold him to but it probably wasn't this seller's mom. The seller's feedback is pretty poor anyway.

I am sure that seller has scammed with ponies before? I recall reading his feedback prior to this and it would only be because of something mentioned about pony stuff

Yes, this is definitely a scam. The pony is from centifolias collection. I have no idea if she has sold it or if she still owns it, but: even if she had sold it, no uk mom would "find it in their loft" like that.

Also - the picture has been cropped so that the (swedish) price tag is not visible.

How cheesy is it that they actually state they don't know if it's valuable

Its still going up an awful lot in price, I feel sorry for whoever has to deal with the hassle!

i don't understand why people do this? if ebay is just going to force them to give their money back...
or can they transfer the money immediately and abandon the paypal?
that's the only way i can see them getting anything out of this except for trouble.

Yes, I expect they'll do something dodgy. Or maybe they'll go to the second highest bidder and tell them they can have it if they pay outside of eBay or something. Who knows?

The auction is over.  It sold for over 220 pounds.
