kinda makes me wonder what is going to happen to value of other g4 because Hasbro is dragging tail on releasing new stuff in my area
I only came across Diamond Rose and that cherry Pie one time and bought them and so glad now that I had because that was months ago January/Feb. perhaps and never saw those since...
Hasbro needs to get on to better distrubution!! I don't want to have to resort to finding ones I want on ebay...I like store buying at cost!! The gas soaring is enough as is without pony wars on ebay due to someone sleeping in the pony shipping dock! :P

FS Applejack has become incredibly hard to find, so those prices aren't as shocking to me. I think she was sold before or right when FiM hit it big and then they stopped producing/selling her. I'm lucky I nabbed her when I did--wish I had grabbed more than one now.

If I had a HTF item, I'd have a difficult time deciding where to put it up for auction.

Just a few months ago Sweetie Swirl was averaging about $20.

Yeah, I am surprised Sweetie Swirl is going for more than the boxed price. She must have entirely disappeared from a lot of areas.

And Fashion Style Applejack, isn't there a new one coming out this year? I hope we see her soon.

I emailed Hasbro a while back and it turns out that they are still making Fashion Style Applejacks. But they only distribute them a certain way. It's kind of dumb, really. :/

In the end I only paid $9 for the pony :) . But I stupidly didn't know that Rarity had tinsel in her hair, I sold her with the playset :(

They were selling the carousel set for €15 here lately (it was €40 when it came out)....... Dang it, I'd have bought all the 3 they had left had I known she'd become that valueable. :E xD

That's the way its going to be with these exclusives at the moment I think - by the time you buy the set and have it shipped half way across the world it does start to get expensive so maybe someone was just willing to drop a little more for the ease of getting the only part of the set they wanted. Whether its Sweetie Swirl, Star Swirl, SkyWishes or whomever else they release this way in the future because of the nature of the internet we "know" who has what elsewhere on the globe unlike back in G1 days where you mainly knew what was out in your country and no where else - this knowledge makes exclusives sought after. Plus there is the rightful worry that more and more of the earlier waves which were "supposed" to be widely available in certain countries simply havent shown up. I am not going to argue that the end price is high though just not as shocking as I other auctions I have seen lol.

Give it a couple of years [or even less] and we ll start seeing "ex-toys" online via ebay from parents selling no longer wanted childrens items, then the prices will lower again...

And on FS AJ we ll get her again...so as long as you were after the pony and not the specific first release then I would hold out for her to hit shelves again!

Here is the thing, Hasbro cannot take full blame for the lack of distribution... Some stores will refuse to set certain new items out till they have their resets or unless they are really starting to run low on items on the shelf.. I have yet to see Diamond Rose and Cherry Pie I thing for those reasons... both of my Wal-marks are still pretty much in full stock of the sets they have because a lot of kids in my area already have at least one of the toys or so... Target is the same way and still has some of the Canterlot sets which I need to find out when those will go on sell so I can get them..

I only paid $10 for the set, which I bought exclusively to get Sweetie Swirl. I was tempted to buy the rest of them at the time (there were 5) but I knew I didn't have room to store them and seeing how I can't get rid of the carousel from the set I did buy or the Rarity from the set, I'm glad I didn't end up doing it.

That's the same here. My Target is usually about two months ahead of my Walmart so we JUST got the luggage ponies at Walmart but Target has had them since March. I was in Target today looking at what they had left... as for singles, they don't have much but the larger Canterlot sets... there are three that I am waiting to go on sale so I can grab them for a decent price. I did kick myself for not grabbing Twilight Sparkle's balloon when it was $10.

I never even saw the carousel set here. I never saw Rarity's carriage either. I would love to get a Sweetie Swirl but not if she's selling for THAT price. Geeze. AJ's prices seem normal for the past few months. I'm just glad they are re-releasing her because I need to get her. I never picked her up when she was out because I wasn't collecting G4's then. Man, am I kicking myself for that.

And some that were sold at that price with only one bid. There is something to always remember in these type of situations... some people really want the pony at that time, and bid on it and make ti higher, and then other sellers see that and change their prices to reflect the "real value" of the pony. I think also that there is a marketing mechanism we all fall prey to that has us believe that if an item is higher cost, it's better value/better quality. (Like ageneric vs store brand). In this case, a novice ebayer new to ponydom might think this is a high value pony and bid a lot.

Shine Bright Luna was really high when I was searching for one and I kept on losing. Now one just ended at 6.50 on EBay!

I BIN'd one for my daughter a week ago for around $20 dollars shipped that had been listed for a number of das when I found it. You can actually BIN the entire carousel for $45 dollars right now + about $13 in shipping. I am confused as to why someone would bid this up so high but hey, lucky seller :)
