Fairy Tail Perch replacement?

My mom got me 2 Fairy Tail birds in very nice condition. But they don't have their perch. Is there a good replacement available or can I Make my own?

in the past I have used big thick pencils. Fortunately the perches aren't hard to find.

Is assume anything that's cylindrical for now will do If you have any K'nex (please tell me you know what im referring to.  Really popular alternative to lego growing up) hanging around or can find the sticks at a VV, those might work if they are the right diameter--and look pretty at the same time
