I work as a nanny and the baby I watch has Downs. After months of working on it, he learned to clap his hands last week.  Made my whole day!

. But he got into a accident involving a chair and a cat food dish
Good lord - a catfood dish did THAT?

I worked at walmart when I was in Alaska. The good part was they started you out at $12/hr and I got $13/hr for being inside the dairy cooler for 9 hrs a day but OMG it SUCKD. There are so many levels of managers and you could never find the one you needed, they scheduled you whenever they wanted - basically at orientation and the intervies they tell you want you want to hear and about how great they are to work for-blah blah blah..but when you actually need something..nope. they dont give a rats ass. I needed 2 weeks off for my grandmothers funeral, in NY. I wasnt there long enough for a LOA and the store manager was the only one who could authroize 2 weeks off. He said "NO, if I was going to be gone more then 3 days to march myself straight into HR and tell them I quit because walmart only wants employees who are willing to work." It takes about 24 hours to get from Alaska to NY with layovers and crap. No way in hell I could do it in 3 days. Plus, if you have to transfer in chicago - you got a good change of a weather delay.  :enraged:
For the 2nd largest walmart in the USA, they are HORRIBLE

Daiyu said on the 3rd she had the flu and was going to ship this week.
My cousin works at Target in WI.  Although they are much better about giving time off  (which is really good since she's had a lot of medical issues) their scheduling is horrible! Sometimes she works at 6am, sometimes she doesn't go in until the evening, some of her shifts are only for 3 hours. Her mom is pushing her to find a job with a more reliable schedule, but I think she'll just put up with it until she gets pushed out of the nest (she still lives at home).

I'm very sorry this took so long! It's been a crazy week. These aren't the best pictures but I didn't want to wait any longer to get my brag up.
Here are pictures of my swap box from Tibble79:
The box when I opened it, with purple tissue paper on top and a prety blue bracelet!

All the wrapped goodies. The little red package was a Dove dark chocolate bar which for some unknown reason did not make it into the photos.  I'm sure it can't be because I ate it.

A close up of the bracelet-isn't that a beautiful blue?

5 pretty little perfume bottles. They'll be great with my bigger ones, sort of like bottle families, lol.

Some pretty floral pill boxes

A whole herd of cute little animals.  Look at that adorable pink elephant.  Although I'm not too sure what the animal in the front is-an otter? weasel?

Some cute extras-a cat & mouse pin, a crazy holographic bookmark, and a bendy, magnetic cat (sorry the photo doesn't show it better)

And my random item-a magnetic paper clip holder, made to look like a sink!

Ok good news! I got the apartment and signed the papers for it. My older brother loaned Mr.TALE and I the money we needed :) Move-in date is April 6th and if my swap box hasn't arrived by the time I move, I'm going to ask Canada Post if they can redirect all mail adressed to Mr.TALE and me from my old adress to my new one. If they can't do that, I'm going to be walking back and checking every day at noon till it comes.

I'm just so happy right now :D I won't be moving on my birthday!

Wow, congrats on your new place.  I know that Canada Post does redirect mail but I it costs almost $50 for 6 months and $80 for a year.  I remember when it was $30.  Good luck with your move!
Wow, that's expensive! In the US the post office will forward mail (except junk mail)for a year for free. You just have to give them a change of address form.

According to USPS.com, Monday is not a postal holiday, so you should be able to mail out then.

Actually not that much 5-6 inches here. North was more.  But it's not cold so I think it will start melting soon. :)
5-6 inches of snow and Cincinnati shuts down.  So sad.

Snow! :snow: Mail will probably be slow today.
How much snow did you get, Sarah? Most of it went around us. Which is just fine with me!

I'm a little worried about getting my boxes since I've complained about my mail carrier several times in the last couple of weeks.  Although a lot of times packages are delivered by a different guy in post office SUV.
