Pony Hair Conditioner?
« on: June 05, 2012, 11:05:40 PM »
i keep getting ponies which have a substance in their hair which i think is conditioner:

they are silky and somehow "heavy" and when i wash their hair it gets "greasy" (in a good way) and smells like heaven. :)

and when treated with the flat iron it becomes SUPER silky and shiny.

i wanted to ask which products do you pony people use for conditioning the pony hair? please give me as much info as you got as i live in europe so may the product has to be ordered online :D

I use the Herbal Essences conditioner in the dark orangy-red bottle, think it's an anti-frizz one. It smells lush and is the best conditioner I have ever found for pony hair :)

I am currently using Redken conditioner.  It's super expensive, however, and am only using it because a friend gave it to me.

I leave most of it in my hair lol, but pony hair I wash all of it out unless the hair is super-frizzy, in which case I leave a tiny bit in the ends to tame the fuzzies :)

maybe I should try a different brand.  I used a bunch recently on a frizzy g3 but it left the hair with little curly frizz, sort of webbyness that won't comb out. although most of it is fine. ya know?

... or maybe that's not fixable?

I use Aberto Balsam conditoner, mainly because I can get it from poundland (I think they still stock it, I need some more) and its a fruity themed range so you get lots of nice scents, like apple or strawberries and cream, XD

lol, i hope we are talking about the same stuff :D conditioner (i use it after normal shampooing under the shower, leave it 2minutes on the hair and wash it out) - and the other stuff is a spray i apply after showering in the moist hair and do not wash it out.

what is what  now :D :D

I always just use a little fabric softener. I dilute about half a cap full in a cup of water and dunk the pony in, let her sit for a while, then rinse most of it out.

Right now I'm using a product that is meant to be used with a flat iron...  Thermasilk.  It's working really well!

I actually ADORE VO5 shampoo for my own hair!! I don't know why but I prefer it to Suave!

As for me, I have this bottle of White Rain conditioner from like...1993. I know, weird, but it still works on my ponies.

I use Johnsons Baby Shampoo & Conditioner! I cant decide if its because I am worried about the soap getting in the ponies eyes or if its just because chemically its one of the gentlest options out there.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I use Johnson's baby shampoo, any type of "natural" shampoo or ...Laundry detergent. I usually reserve the laundry detergent for a pony with awful hair and let it sit for 24 - 48 hours. Comes out so wonderful. ^___^
