Ugh.. -_- I don't think I'll ever buy another pony online again.
I've bought 2 other G4s online so far, and this, my 3rd.
This is the 2012 edition of Fluttershy. I paid £7.75 for her. ($12.20 USD?)
As soon as the mail came through this morning I switched my webcam on and started filming my maniacal excitement as I began my first unboxing video for my first Fluttershy... But alas... the moment I got her out of her box I noticed her derp...
Excitement flattened, I stopped recording. -_- (Lol, must have looked pretty funny really, I was like "YAYAYAYAA! .......oh... dayam that's some derp).
I'm so sad because I don't know what I can do with her now she is out of the box.

Maybe I'll get used to it and it won't seem so bad. But what would you do in this situation?
Keep her? Be okay with it? Shrug it off? Be mad? Send her packing? Scream at Hasbro's QC?.....

I just BURST out laughing upon looking at the pics again after reading your comment!
My initial horror and disdain has been replaced by laughter. ^_^
She kind of looks like she's confused!!

Aww, she's kind of cute like that. I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to paint eyebrows on her so she looked like she was giving a glare!

Looks like she has two differently sized eyes, at least it does to me.
I am very picky, and this would bother me personally. I'd have to get another one, and either keep this one as a factory error or sell it.

In complete honesty....if this was a G1 I would be upset [ish], but having seen HBs quality control on G4 I would probably just go with it....!
She is cute and if its any consolation I did have to stare pretty hard before I noticed....
Sorry you are not happy with her! I dont think you ll get your money back for her if you sell so I would hold on to her - she could be your "unique Fluttershy variant"...

Yeah I'm unfortunately the same way... I'm always drawn to derp eyes Dx I ended up with a Feathermay with fairly noticeable derp eye, I HAD to replace her, it just bothered me too much, she prevented me from being able to focus on the rest of my collection :X I'm so sorry you ended up with a wonky pony :C Hasbro hasn't been too on-the-mark with the eyes on the G4 line. It's the same reason I feel worried about ordering ponies, I like to examine the heck out of mine in the store. Hope you come to peace with the derp eye, or at least find a way to replace her! As an utter perfectionist, I feel your pain Dx

My FS Fluttershy is a little "derp-eyed" too. Not as much as yours thoug. :P

I wouldn't mind - I love my ponies either way! My shy seems to be like that too, but its cute and I love it! I forgot to add, she's one of the late wave 4 suitcase ones.

That's pretty bad. Honestly i don't buy G4 ponies online unless there really is no other option or the seller has decent pictures. I have seen too many misprinted symbols/cutie marks in stores.
Some people might like it but i would get annoyed over paying for a flawed pony.

Hahaha yea thats a bit wonky... My Styling Fluttershy has eye problems as well, I think they leaned her a bit too much when they printed her eyes and now it looks like they are too close to eachother. And once I saw a Blossomforth with a droopy eye! XD
Thats why I dont like ordering ponies online.

When I bought my Blossomforth she came with one of her eyes off the mark, giving her a :muffin: Pony appearance, too. I just styled her hair so it's in front of her face - now she looks much cuter, and you don't even notice the eye problem!

I'd keep one side of her facing the back of a shelf or a wall and do my best to ignore it.

As misapplied paint jobs go she's actually pretty cute, with her adorable confused-looking o_O expression.
It's a shame she's not perfect but at least it's not one of those crazy I'm-gonna-eat-your-soul expressions that weird eyed fakies always seem to have.

At least Fluttershy is one that'll (presumably) always be easy to find. If you contact Hasbro, they might send you a replacement for free.
...That said, I sort of have a soft spot in my heart for all of the :muffin: Pony, factory error ponies out there. I think it makes them unique. :)

Or you could go to the shop and ask for an exchange since that is factory-damaged (or something). I don't know about the laws regarding that but at least here I could do that.

There are two things I can't stand on G4s. One is smudged or otherwise misaligned symbols and the other is eyes that are not directly painted in the indent where it belongs. I definitely try my hardest to avoid buying ponies with this issue, but sometimes it's not noticeable in the package. Currently in my collection, I only have one pony with a misaligned eye, and that's my Blossomforth. Her display side eye was printed too far towards the nose, so it looks kind of strange. I couldn't find another for months, and by that time, I'd already fixed her hair how I wanted it and didn't want to start over, so she's just going to stay in my collection. Another time, I got a Ploomette with the display side eye printed too high by like an eighth of an inch. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough to make her look like she had eyebags. I was so excited to find her in the store that I didn't inspect her closely enough. Luckily, I saw the error before I opened it and was able to replace her with another one.

My FS Fluttershy's eyes are slightly off and I don't really mind so much, but on your Fluttershy it's more noticeable... she is cute though. I guess it just depends on how much it bothers you when you look at her, whether to get a replacement or not. I probably would if it were me.
I try to avoid ordering online now too after getting several ponies that have arrived with small defects. :/

it doesnt seem too bad. i have a twilight sparkle with one eye pointed more upwards that the other, and an applejack who had one eye wayyyy too high off the mark (i baited her because her eyes bothered me)

Me either. Maybe it's a teeny bit off on one eye but I wouldn't consider it all that bad, like I didn't even notice. *shrug*

Wow! That would probably bother me... I'd ask for a replacement. But, that's me. I'm such a perfectionist... haha. She is kinda cute... though.... ^.^

Quite a few of my ponies have this derped eye issue, but I find myself not minding. It's worst on Meadow Song, though. Mostly because he's tiny, so the problem looks hella big.

This is why I'd never buy G4s online unless they're international exclusives.

To be honest yes. I think this happens with fluttershy in particular? I always see her serped in shops, and my Blossomforth is slightly but not so much as yours
If it really hinders your enjoyment, trade her for another :)

My Twilight Sparkle an Apple Bloom Ponies are the only derp-eyed ponies in my collection. Im a very pick-a-pony person and i didn't notice that... till now :blush:

She is indeedy a suitcase pony. The Amazon ad had the "2012 edition" in the title, but I don't think I should believe this. Her hoof says she was made in 2010 - pffft! Amazon Shmamazon.

The 2010 probably refers to when the mold was made.
I am really having trouble seeing what is wrong with her. To me, they look like the standard Fluttershy "shy-and-sweet pony eye" shape... which suits her (mho of course). The thing I notice most on the G4s is the head-and-body color match problems, but I don't mind that, either. (plus, I don't think many, if any, of the G4s *don't* have that problem so whatcha gunna do :huh: )
LOL, though...You guys are soooo fussy. You made me run to all my G4s to look for the :muffin: Pony eyes. If they have em they don't bother me or I can't tell, don't know which. XD

I would contact Hasbro through their UK Email customer services... I recently had a problem with a Mr Potato head
product and contacted them, they have now agreed to send us a new one : )
I did have to send two emails as their first response was apologetic but didn't offer a solution, in other words don't give up until you get a new one! Best bet is to express how much of a fan of FIM you are and are so disappointed in the quality... Good luck and let us know if you have any success! x

totally second contacting hasbro! It's kinda sad seeing how piss poor the quality control issue is (and I am so not believing that taobao are "errors" more so than - hey guys = wanna rip-off some collector-types"? kinds of planned production runs...) and if a whole super-big bunch of people would do the same = flood hasbro with rightful quality complaints = than maybe just maybe the juggernaugt of a toy manufacturer might even consider changing up how they make these poor dears...
but heck, in the meantime = you all G4 fans get some decently free apology ponies in the mail to ya ;-)
