What is WeLoveFine doing with the MLP Vinyl line?
« on: April 01, 2014, 12:52:31 PM »
As I've posted most of what goes on with WLF MLP vinyl figures, myself being a collector of their vinyls...I'm at a crossroads right now. Up until the Twilight vinyl, I've collected all the first editions of the Muffin & Scratch. Then the Trixie & Twilight threw me for a loop.  There was what I saw as major backlash from collectors and fans for those two vinyls.  I figured they'd slow down but apparently what I saw as disappointment for those two figures was but only a small percent of the demo, because they just announced FIVE more DJ-Pon3 variant Vinyls. Plus I really hate how they already explained what the following 4 vinyls will be. I mean no surprise? no guessing? no games to figure it out? no riddles? COME ON!
To follow this road or veer off and find another outlet for collecting....

http://www.welovefine.com/featured/133-dn-pon-3-my-little-pony-black-light-vinyl-figure?utm_source=blacklightpon3&utm_medium=email&utm_content=featured&utm_campaign=140401featured#.UzsQf_ldXHE

I'm excited and pissed at the same time. I actually like this first of five design but feels like they took Tron and laid it over DJ. It's just like, the artist designed line was put as a limited and exclusive line up. Limited, rare, short time only. Now it's worse than a video game company releasing a new game every year, whether it's good or not. Now I know that it's a business and they're in it to make money. I'm just ranting and seeing what others think.

What's everyones feelings here?

I will saw however, part of being a true collector for me...I've purchased Trixie, Twilight, and this new DJ-Pon3 vinyl already.

Blarg...

[sarcasm] WLF going the cheapest route possible to make the most money out of fans? Why...colour me surprised. [/sarcasm]

I dont like them...never have and will admit to finding every single vinyl they have produced pretty ugly and unlike-able. However they are a commercial company and about as wily and savvy on how to hound every dollar out of fans as a company can be. I have long since accepted them for what they are. After their recent actions I would not expect anything else from them.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

But if it's April Fool's then why would you even be able to actually make the purchase?

Man...all this heat is getting to me.

Time will tell I guess.

After looking, I saw that they removed the other april fools jokes. The cologne and bro hoof things. Yet this vinyl still remains...

Considering I actually got a WLF email that mentioned that Vinyl variant about an hour or two ago, and that from the looks of it you can buy it, a good part of me thinks it's real and not a prank (at least this new "DJ Tron-3" being legit).

If this is a prank, it sure is a "good"/risky one, considering how people feel about the figures in the first place.
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D

I agree, it'd be crossing an already shaky line to make this a prank. Well I was able to purchase it for the sake of my collection so I guess we'll see if I get a refund or what happens.

None, personally, but I'm sure other people like her more than I do.

If I had more spare money, I might have bought one ( i do like how it looks, even if i don't really like Vinyl).
I just hope we find out sooner or later if this is a real or not.

Quote
- Inverse Colors PON-3 (Like a trippy photo negative!)
- Stylin' Mane PON-3 (With real rooted hair!)
- Bobblehead PON-3 (Nod your head to the beat!)
- Rotating Turntable PON-3 (Battery operated, watch her spin on that disc!)

Considering these "other" DJ PON-3 variations that they are making, I'm sure it's an April Fool's joke.

But it does remind me of how much I hate WeLoveFine now for their skeezy practices to date.  Odd that they would make fun of the very fact that has made so many turn their backs on these guys.

Is this some kind of freakish amalgamation between an April Fools joke and an actual product or what?!

Strangely enough, it is a product that can be added to one's cart...

Curious!
