What is your favorite generation? What is your least favorite?

Mine in order from best to stinking worst are G1, G3, G2, G4, G3.5

Well I collect everything MLP from all Gens, My favorite will always be G1's! They are the ones I grew up playing with, and the ones that lead me to start collecting as an adult. It was well trying to look up their real names online that I stumbled unto the online MLP community way back when.
 
G1 - Oh happy, happy childhood memories! 
G2 - What happened to MLPs??? between my being to "old" for ponies and rediscovering them as an adult? OH well more to collect. 
G3 - Yeah MLPs are back in stores!! their not as cute as the originals, but yeah new ponies to collect!!! 
G3.5 - OK what where they thinking? they look like bigheaded Brat clone ponies... 
G4 - Mouse ponies Really??? 
G4D (dolls) -       (they really aren't that bad, kind of cute I guess, It's just the selling out principle of it that I object to)
G5 - If they keep getting smaller were probably going to need magnifying glasses just to see them...  Look its MLP ants! ...

I grew up with G1s and they will always be my faves, they hold such sentimental value and is the essence of "My Little Pony", to me. These are the focus of my collection.
I do collect some G2, G3 and G4, as "fun" additions to the G1's, but they aren't as valuable to me (except maybe my prized G3, Diva Tink-a-too).

Certainly G1 are at the top closely followed by G4.

Then G2 they just started to grow on me one day

G3 I do buy some that I like and keep the ones that people buy me but I do not go out of my way to buy them

G3.5 I do not hate them but do not like them either but I confess to having 1 and that is were that branch of my collection ends.

G1 is my all times favorite generation, closely followed by G2.

I like G3 (but G3.5 disgust me =P).  Just...  WHY SO MANY PINK PONIES?!  But there's variety =3

G4...  I like it...  but...  WHY THE SAME POSES?!  (and talking into account that where I live there haven't been 'new' ponies -i.e., characters- since 2011 ¬¬X  I'm REALLY bored just seeing RD, PP, Fluttershy, Rarity, TS and Applejack... those are the only ones they carry -.-).  Last 'new' characters I bought...  Blossomforth and Ploomete so many moons ago o.o

And really sad for lack of variety...  not even in the flea market for G4s ;___;

G3.5 just felt like this huge step between g3 and g4 that ended in shame

In this order... G1, G3, Tales, G2. G4.........and waaay down the line, G3.5. Then again, I'm judging things from a show perpective, with liking G2 for Friendship gardens and the books. G1 stands at the top for me, for it's dark adventures. G3 is fun and cute, a society where everbody is happy! ^^ Tales has some good, 'babysitters club' stories, and G4 has the best character development. 3.5 is... something I don't talk about. O_o

It's funny how some people said they don't like G2 because they don't look like MLP, but that was also my initial reaction when I discovered G1 and G3

So yeah, G2 first and everything else in second place   

Better for us G2hoard.. lovers, there isint many people buying them.

Well, I like (more or ...less) all generations. The list goes from best to worst:
G1 - I was too young too see them in stores, but my childhood friend had a Sweetheart Sister. I remember stumbling upon Dream Valley for the first time and falling in love with all the old ponies! I don't have many of them, because they're rather HTF and expensive where I live, but I truly do love them! The ponies were perfect and creative - not to mention the gorgeous artwork!
G2 - I grew up with them, of course I love them! They're so slim and fragile, they remind me of The Last Unicorn  I love their ethereal looks. I think that the gem stone eyes were really good idea.
You can imagine how strange G3s seemed to me when they hit the shelves....
The only thing that I dislike is the lack of interesting poses. The G2 ponies don't seem so interesting to collect, because the poses are too similar.
G3 - I like how they're a return to roots! Finding a G3 pony in a thrift store got me into collecting    Lots of interesting poses and characters!(Of course pre-Core7)
G4 - I remember when first photos of the new ponies were shown - half the people on arena found them ugly. Everything has changed after the first episode of the show has aired. The same thing has happened to me. I think that they're sort of cute, but not interesting enough for me to start collecting. I bought one Rainbow Dash and one Fluttershy way before the brony business started and that's it - I don't really see the need to have more. I dislike how tiny they're  And they don't look like horses at all...
G3.5 - the messed-up prototypes of G4, the missing link of pony evolution  Well, the Newborn cuties were sort of cute, but the rest was just like G4, except all lose and no gain...

I also really love (good) fakies, I've even started a blog on them I know that most collector dislike them, but to me they're like the undiscovered story of MLP!
