It's a petite, definitely not a fakie! :D I don't know much about them, but I'm sure someone can fill you in.

As Reanna said, that's a petite. n-n

They were sold by Hasbro as well in their own packs. (And there was playsets especially designed for them.) You could probably compare them to the 'Teensies' LPS has.

And as for price, I'd say around 5-10 dollars.

Yea a petite and the Petites didn't have specific names. I love Petites.  I have a playset and about 20 of them.

As everyone else has said, that's a petite.  There are several different kinds of petites.  You can find out more here:
http://www.ponylandtours.com/PetitePocket/PetitePocketIndex.html

The price guide on that website is quite out of date, so don't go by that.

It looks like you've got one from the first set of Pony Tail Petites:
http://www.ponylandtours.com/PetitePocket/ponytale.html

That set is pretty common, though it looks like yours is in really good condition.   A lot of them suffer from frizzy tails or really bad symbol rubs.  It's not uncommon to see symbol-less petites.  The symbols can easily rub completely off.   It's also not uncommon to see ponytail petites with terrible hair.  Frizz tends to be a big problem with those little guys.

Some of the more expensive petites include the Bright Sight Petites, the Twinkle Petites, and the Glowing Magic Petites(those glow in the dark!).  You can find information about all of those at the website linked above.

The rarest petites are the ones that were released at Toyfair for the G2 ponies:
http://www.ponylandtours.com/PetitePocket/1997.html

Petite prices can range from next to nothing for common ones in bad condition to over $50 each for the rare ones.  Since your petite is in such good condition, I'd say it's probably in the $5-$10 range.

Petites can be notorious for not selling as not everyone collects them - I dont think your prices are wildly out Ivy...I think its been more a case of inflation [:P] - so 2 to 4 dollars on each average will probably round them to what they should be...however as mentioned what they should be will not always be what they are.

Yes I have to agree I spent a pretty penny on my glowing girls and I don't regret it one bit.  I long to have some Sunsparkle ones and Bright Sight ones but never seem to be able to grab them for a decent price since I have spent too much on ponies of other sorts already. LOL

She's really cute! I had about 15 common petites and put them up on ebay 4 or 5 years ago since I wasn't that into them. There was a bidding war at the last moment and they sold for $75!!

I am certainly going to keep an eye out for more of these!
Funny... As I was showing the Petite to Hubby, I remembered that his sister and I used to play with these! And, yes, the symbols would dissappear at the rub of a finger and it was tough to keep the tails anywhere close to smooth. Ah, the nostalgia! I knew this little gal was vaguely familiar!

Hmmm... I wonder if my mom-in-law kept any in the basement?

I feel a new addiction coming on.
